i've been listening to everything by Ms Church on youtube for hours now, and i've yet to hear anything that wasn't excellent. i'm addicted, i don't want to stop, like child, i'm afraid i might miss something. Louis Armstong said there are 2 kinds of music: Good and Bad. there seem to be some who are confused as to which is which, and for all of those, i have great sympathy. their lives must be a drag.

everyone's a critic. no matter who you are or what you do, somebody out there--usually someone with zero talent themselves--will slice you for how you didn't do this or that correctly. whatever.

good critics are important. as for the others i don't know the percent on zero talent but i imagine it runs high. you say Church "easily" could have corrected the high notes. if so, i find it interesting how top professionals handing her on the world stage were so stupid or lazy or simply didn't know nearly as much as you since the correction should have been easy. that's amazing. and if critics can't handle their critics they should probably either quit posting or stand mute. my opinion.

You confirm the way you first sounded: you want to appoint yourself moderator of this blog, or the best judge as to who qualify as "good critics", or who's got the necessary level of talent to post, and you are quick to "stand mute" those that don't meet with your approval. You may already know that utube is a lot more democratic than that... It accommodates the max range of opinions, etc. no matter the source, including yours... all are welcome! :)

Charlotte needs no one's protectiveness - she's quite accomplished and successful without anyone's aid. But tastes range wide in any field - among "experts" or lays. Let's just express our own views and resist descending to putdowns of others'. No one here called anyone stupid,lazy or less knowing - those aren't MY inflammatory words. I just noted that if one wants rounder tones at the high regs, that can be practiced. That's her and her coaches' choice. '... de gustibus non disputandum est'
