  • looks like she's oiling good up top

  • @KrankieV2 it did come up after a while but I did have to oil it with a can before startup.

rings are on order now tho, so I should have it back together soon.

  • Looks just like my old MG 1100 engine. ;-)

  • @mctim64 cool!, I think this engine saw use in many BMC cars including the Sprite, Mini, Morris1100, an d your MG

  • Loveley little a series, sounds better than when they were in the moriss 1100!

  • its a pretty beat-up old motor, but I was surprised how ballsey it sounds with a short pipe on it!

  • Youve done a fine job,and yes; it sounds great!

  • @Aussie50 That thing would make a nice homemade large go kart for havin fun

  • interesting, dont you need the belt to drive the altenater so the spark plugs would work?

  • h, the coil is running straight off the battery, but without the generator or an alternator, the battery eventually dies. but I use a charger on it when it gets too low.

I can't use that Lucas generator without its regulator anyway. so I'm fitting a modern alternator.

  • wow, i havejust noticed that youre engin does not appear to have a fanbelt . today every thing is built like crap

  • It normally dose have a belt driven fan but because I was using a external electric water pump it didn't need it.

its all installed now though, you cna see it on the latest vid on that engine

  • loos like a verry beefy engin

  • for a 1.1L engine, its bloody well build!, compared to today micro-car crap coming from Korea!

  • That was pretty cool. It makes one really appreciate the internal combustion engine.

  • they really are amazing!, especially todays engines wit also many improvements and additional components!

  • cool vid. its nice not havving oil pressure you can do vids like that woith out getting coverd in oil.lol. if you put a t/stat in that you will be able to get it to running temp and get the idle down to 300-400rpm.

  • I did 360rpm with a single cylinder 11.6cc spark converted nitro engine running on ethanol.

You need a bigger flywheel. And you need to fix that shot bearing.

  • Nice!

yah, I'll look into doing the front main bearing too.
