  • I counted it once, boredom at it's very finest, it cam out to be 736 licks.

  • This is a hidden message for the ILLUMINATI...

  • 0:12 What's the deal with Mr Fox's sunglasses, is he blind or just a hipster?

  • Mr. Fox looked like a drug dealer... LOL!

  • NIIIICE!!! The long version!!! :-D

  • i love how his face is like -___________-

  • i didnt know the owl answered "Three" at the end lol

  • I had forgotten the cow and fox from this commercial, its great to find this classic without cuts or mods.

  • Ian from smosh knows

  • Oh wow, I remember this.

  • Awesome build-up :-)

  • and now for a commercial break.....

  • Memorable.

  • Let's...find out.

    So iconic.

  • Why is that boys ass so huge?

  • The cow was voiced by Frank Nelson. A very funny comedian and entertainer.

  • Mr. Cow is a little too happy..mr Fox seems like a perv...

  • How did the fox lose his site?

  • @holycrapyousuck I don't think he lost his sight. It is common for 'sly' characters to wear sunglasses so their eyes don't give them away.

  • i don't think thats the real question. i think the real question is, WHY THE HELL IS THIS BOY NAKED? NOBODY ADDRESSES THIS!

  • @UltimateDumeandGwen Even the turtle when he first comes out is like, "What the fuck? Put on some clothes, boy! I can see your junk!"

  • i remember being a kid and counting how many licks i had, and being confused when my friend got a different number. Nostalgia'd so hard

  • looks like mr owl doesnt give a hoot because i know that tootsie pop wrapper isnt going to pick itself up

  • i love it

  • I want my friggin' lemon Tootsie Roll Pop back!! Why do they always kill the lemon flavor of everything?? That aside, I love this commercial. Brings back so many memories.

  • 2022 to be exact

  • Memories...

My friend did a science experiment "How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop" He won first prize.

He said it takes about 2,000 to reach it, complety.

  • 471

  • OMG, Mr. Fox is obviously Paul Frees!

  • to get to the COMPLETE CENTER with no candy bits on it at all, I got 2032 licks

  • All the voices are based on famous character actor voices from the 40's and 50's. Peter Lorrie is the fox and the turtle is supposed to be Chill Wills, an old western movie actor. But the other two I can picture the actor, but can't remember the names.

  • if that owl put his nasty tounge on my sucker i would of beat the fuc out of him then shot his bitch ass then hung him on my door dead

  • @redfox123ify lmao thanks for being you

  • accually it is 312 or 322 in between there

  • i tried to get to 3 once. dentist appointment next day :/

  • Memories, memories!!'

  • It took me approximately 480 licks, because I've lost count a couple of times

  • you guys are all Bluffing and Biting.

IT is Known. Everybody i know says

    467.

I say. 467. WE NEED SCIENTIFIC PROOF!

  • When I tried it, it took about 300 licks

  • It may take many different amounts. Depends on how short or long the licks are and the size of a tootsie pop.

  • Von, Tvo, Thrrrrrrree, Thrrrrree

I love Mr. Owl's accent. XD

  • KID: mr.owl how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop

    Mr.owl: its over 9000

  • My record was about 378, and that was back in 2001 when I was on an airplane to Maui!

  • No surprise if this commercial was drawn by a hippie on something!

  • okay I don't remember seeing the cow and fox part of the commercial before XD;

  • @RahNinjaBlade there are three versions, 60seconds, 30seconds and 15seconds... i checked it out on wikipedia

  • It was always three...

  • This is the best commercial ever. At some point they put it back on TV and I had the privilege of watching it. Now it's on youTube. I love it.

  • I never saw the Cow or the Fox before, and I remember when these first aired.

  • Frank Nelson is "Mr. Cow", Paul Frees is "Mr. Fox", and Paul Winchell is "Mr. Owl". There was a variation in later versions of the one minute version, at :49, where the boy added, "If there's one thing I can't stand, it's a smart owl".

  • @fromthesidelines

    Yesssssss??? :)

  • I shoulda known. I've always known this was from the 70s (the designs immediately make that obvious), and commercials were longer then. So I shoulda figured that it was originally longer. This is a real trip to see.

  • they really cut this commercial down when it was shown in the 90's wasnt it..I dont remember the fox or the cow

  • @ThisMightBeAndy09 I never knew about them either. There's just one part missing form this video "If there's one thing I can't stand it's a smart owl." And yeah the fox and cow haven't aired since like the early 70s.

  • Good to teach kids about oxymorons! (Mr. Cow)

  • Its over 9000!!!!!

  • @Shavarnarak It is!

  • omg!! i saw this commercial when i was like four years old and i remember it! i even remember the three headed monster commercial too!

  • Oh wow! When I was a kid, I only saw the turtle and the owl. My Dad used to tell me about the fox but I never even KNEW about the cow. Thanks for uploading
