  • MMMM COOKIES. *clap clap clap*

  • This man is a poet. Praise the Lord.

  • takes courage to bring soulful beautiful music onto a sterile morning television set. brilliant job!

  • I think its comical how John is out there doing what God made him to do meanwhile critical people who lived in an enclosed Christian capsule are throwing stones at him. How comfortable they must feel, and how convenient. Keep at it John, we love ya.

  • He's real. Love him. He is doing a new thing.

  • I like how this lady knows guitar talk! lol

  • Man, these guys are so legit.

  • John Mark has a strong message in his album. There is victory over sin and death and it's through the Son, Jesus Christ. I don't feel disappointed in his interview, it's too easy to judge people. Look at his body of work, not a single little video on youtube.

  • I wish youtube didn't allow comments

  • @TheTOBster21 I have no idea what you are talking about. I said "some" artist that are Christian in the "secular" industry. Just because you can find someone who "thanks God" and writes the lyrics that you wrote down, doesn't mean they are Christian. I don't believe you have discernment on this topic, so don't bother commenting

  • 3rd album?? what the! where do i find those??

  • I think he gave the appropriate answers fit for a television show. He couldn't be all hardcore, given that it was a city-wide television interview. I mean, after all, it was public television. He has gone for the "reach them through the music" approach his whole career, so why be any different now? It's stupid to judge a brother in Christ in his own ministry. How would you all feel if others judged you by the way you lived out your faith? Take a look in the mirror, friends.

  • She wants to emphasize symbolism and no particular doctrine.

  • The only part I was disappointed with was when she said "so it's more the symbolism rather than a doctrine" and he agreed. I mean, it's obviously not, look at his song death in his grave. It's all about Christ overcoming death to bring salvation and redemption. He's all about the gospel, even if he wouldn't get on tv and say "So there's a holy God, we are all sinful people, so he must act out in wrath against...but the good news is Jesus bared our punishment and gave us His righteousness."

  • @efh0888 i think the answer was fine in the sense that he agreed that it wasn't about coming and slapping the Bible in people's heads and doctrine, but rather of him having "conversations with God" and I guess he was just real to me.

I rather have a real guy that come and just be himself that fill his mouth with "christian lingo" and say things that they think we (Christians) want to hear, you know?

    blessings!

  • wow yea he was pretty nervous lol. But to be honest I studied journalism and she wasn't that great an interviewer. lol. Main job with interviewer is to get subject to be relaxed and him/herself and she didn't really do that lol. She almost sounded like she was interorgating him with all these really quick questions. So yeah. I thought he did well considering......anyway rant over.

  • @silver292 yeah she was pretty awful. I didn't watch this so I could listen to HER voice...

  • to all those christians that think you need to bleet out of your mouth the Gospel out of scripture verbatim...let me share revelation. there are many people that are saved and strong in the "secular" music industry which don't talk about their faith on purpose. Look at the story of Esther not being about to talk about her Jewishness until an appointed time that would change the heart and move of a nation. God is doing the same thing in the music industry.

  • @davidpaulmusic fer sure man, straight up. sometimes god wants certain people to keep their mouths shut for certain reasons. i totally forgot about that story, good reminder for me

  • @davidpaulmusic LOL! Like all of the hip hop, rap, and r&b singers? "There she goes slide down the pole." Best single by a hip hop artist! I'd like to thank God for this!...really?

  • @TheTOBster21 You must not have listened to Lecrae, PRo, Trip Lee, Tedashii, KB, Thi'sl ?? They are awesome and are layin' it down for God and His glory. You should check some of them out! Peace.

  • @davidpaulmusic Don't take that story out of it's context and twist it for your benefit. Please, OH, please do not do that!! Matthew 5:14-16 "14 You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."

  • He's really nervous during the interview.

  • Really? What did he remotely say that was lame? It's a news show and an interview. Would you rather he try to be overbearing with what he had to say, which would have been totally out of place, or just be himself, which is laid back and respectful?? Come on....

  • Personally I love John Mark's music because he takes you into a journey in which you can openly express your concerns, fears, and true feelings to God. This is not to say that John Mark is perfect but he rather shows a desire to seek God genuinely and in spirit and truth. He brings the reality of God alive through his songs and invites you to worship God without limitations. He strikes every chord to the heart, the heart of a genuine seeker for the way, the truth and the life offered by Jesus.

  • Wow, I was a little surprised by his answers. Kinda disappointed.

  • @bkenville I don't understand how you were disappointed. Everything he said is relevant, true, and isn't contradictory to anything else he's ever said. He is such a genuine, real guy who is broken like the rest of us. His songs reflect that brokenness but focus on the hope and victory. I'm not trying to debate you or step on your toes, but I simply don't understand what was surprising or disappointing about anything he said.

  • @georgethearab I see why bkenville would be disappointed at John's answers and feel that John Mark may have left people wanting more from his responses. However, I agree with you in the sense that John Mark was very upfront and demonstrated his heart for heart through the responses. He was sincere in not labeling his music but rather calling it a conversation between him and God. I also found him to be opened to sharing his faith without using the name of God as a label for fame. He was human.
