I have a V2 for sale. It's in mint condition. It's just more than I need for what I do musically these days. If you are interested or know anyone who may be, send me a message on here and I'll get you more info.
those fender hm cabs are built forever plus u ugraded speakers what a badass half stack dude.dime used the emmince texas heats i read.how is the gain on the v2
@themodernguitarist no way dude most dudes that start with ss for a long time learn that non mushy tone from ss amp is heavier and thicker than tube amps .usuall tube amp guys are rich and are set in there own way to think ss amps are cheap junk just like rich snobs think they have to have the best.i been in the world along time i met about every type of amp user all tube users dont play metal of the ones i met.metal dudes dont care gain is gain the more the marrier.i want crunch and ultra gain
GREAT AMP, I got an halfstack, 'cause you can really hear the definition of the sound just with the v2 cab, that costs almost like the head but in my opinion is better than a mesa cab. I use the solid pre-amp overall and I'm impressed by the massive-power, the "precision" of the sound. I play with the eq setted like a flat "V" and all frequencies seem so "full" also at high volumes. The best amp I've ever heard
@ktulhu2011 how the gain ultra modern or soso i know by listening on utube the crunch is there. i prefger hybrid amps i had marshall 8100 and others i just want modern shit and 4by12 cabs are more show and ego .fuck only 1 speaker is mic'D in LIVE SITUATIONS .so hide combo in back of stage or to side of stage in a case with rollers to hold combo and effects pedals or rack mounted shit.the stacked stage is gave way to banners ands curtains. please help me so i can make up mind
@metalmusiqcrzy Sorry, I don't understand what are you asking. I know that the amp used in live situations is always one, mic'd and closed in a big box behind the stage, but the 400w v2 is only available as head, not as combo. The sound of a head is obviously influenced by the cab, speackers but also shape, wood and thikness. And the v2 should be used with the matching cab also because it runs on 100w per speacker, not 60w as almost any other head.
@metalmusiqcrzy Sorry, I don't understand what are you asking. I've had this amp for about a month now, I love the tone on it but I have one issue that maybe you can help me with. The feedback and microphonics on this amp are almost unbearable to the point where I can't play the tube overdrive channel live, I replaced the stock tubes with some JJ 12ax7's and 1 Groove 12at7 but the problem went nowhere. What do you think? I also play through a noise gate pedal which does a bit to diminish the hum/feedback at low levels.
@BumpyX1 that prolly why the randall web site demoed the randall t2h and v3 with level knob on 1 instead of being on 7 or 8 .am i wrong or righ .did u ever think there is a problem inside amp/cause OHHHHH i just got mine AS I TEXT its feeding back with level knob up BUT THATS NORMAL I BETT YOUR HEAD HAD A TRANSFORMER ISSU OR SHIELING PROBLEM
@metalmusiqcrzy Yeah it had an issue with metal fusing in the amp that was causing the bad microphonics. I bought it off ebay, so I had to foot the bill to send it to randall to get fixed; but when after 4 months of working on my amp they couldn't fix it they ended up just sending me a brand new one...win. Amp sounds absolutely amazing now, so happy with the purchase.
I read somewhere that the modern hi gain channel on the Randall RG G3 series is the same as the lead channel on the V2. Is this correct? And if so, how do they compare?
Hello there, I'm sure you're aware that on the V2 you have to manually PULL by hand the treble knob in the solid state overdrive channel to get the Treble Sustain BOOST, is it also MIDI switchable? so you just stomp on your footswitch when you need to boost..? 3 weeks ago
i have the v2 too but on my amp i have not so mutch systain like your sounds. if i palmute some notes dhrere not drive only sounds like a bass so very dry maybe my tubes? but the amp is new an my second because my first was clean on the tube od so it was defeckt the new is better but not so heavy as yours mybe my cab? randall Kh cab
so...much....crunch. love it. my brother has a krank revolution which doesnt have near the crunch that this thing has. great demostration. really helped me :)
yea wtf happend to your ceiling dude? looks like a grenade blew up your cieling fan haha anyways nice demo, i'm just stuck trying to find the heaviest, chunkiest, warmest amp out there, and i'm stuck between the Randall V2 and the Krankenstein, if you could help that be awesome
You guys gotta understand that. I play mine in my bedroom while my parents are watching tv in the next room. You can play it at combo amp level if you want or you can blast it like anything else. You just gotta turn it down. It ain't like a tube ampl where it loses its balls at low volumes either. I have the Ninja version of the V2.
Who cares what amp I play? I'm just saying I don't like the sound of the amp the way it is in this video. In fact, I like the clean better than distortion. Gain channel is just way too noisy, and not tight at all. And as a matter of fact I only have a small practise amp which sounds like shit. I'm actually looking to buy an ENGL Powerball, but even though the tone is great a few friends say that it's not that durable, so I'm not sure yet.
Just make sure you take your time with the EQ on it. And record it some even with a cheap dynamic, so you can play it back and critic it. What cab you and speakers you run?
@desolatednightmares so u like the randall t2c hows the gain and crunch .does this amp have tonss on mdern gain and crunch i want to buy but cant return if it sucks cause the mom and pop shop is giving me like 75 off help asap
@metalmusiqcrzy I love it man, It's just right. Check out our page if you want to hear it in action. The EQ is great. Mine came broke it was used but they sent me a brand new one for free so I got a new one for used price!
There isn't numbers listed on the amp. just a knob. So it's all relative. On some of the knobs, 0 is to a different place than another, so I'm not going to guess exactly where 7 would be or anything.
It does have that, but it sounds a little bit dead compared to what the speakers are doing. I think the mic eliminators on the cabs would be better since they have a switch for bright, normal and dark. If I wanted a doom metal sound I would use it more, lol.
@dragonguitarist36 can I plug the head's output in the cab's 16 ohm mono imput to have more balls? 'cause if I have more impedance I have to crank more the volumes to reach the same real volume, right? If I do that I won't damage the amp or the head I think..
You might be able to get that if you boosted the mids, but I think the clean channel wouldnt really be good for you if you needed it. The clean channel wouldn't break up like a tube amps would.
a cice clean sound, melodic enough and.......when it comes to distortion,a heavy but 'clean' sound even at the high gains.....what else could someone ask??????????
I had a mesa rec. for a couple of years, and without a boost pedal, and the volume loud enough to kill small animals, you will not get that that kind of gain. the Rec. amps are very over rated. Try a VHT Pitbull, an Engl, a Splawn Nitro, or if you got the cash a Diezel. I sold my mesa and some other shit and got a used VH4 and Mesa can not compete.
I think the gain structure is too different to get the super saturated tone of a Mesa on high gain without some help...I'm planing on going into an in depth demo of the Tube channel when I get the free time. I'll let you know when I get that done.
hey man, bands like the faceless, arsis, arch enemy and fear factory sometimes use randall, and they're fucking heavy as hell, so i guess you gotta play with it a little before you find some brutal tone!
Nice work, Jesus Rutledge--well put together. I especially enjoyed hearing the tubes versus the solidstates; it was nice being able to back up the video and compare the two. Good idea.
good demo, not enough out there of this amp, hey i got all my problems worked out with mine, i had a ground loop problem with my pedals, thanks for the help,
Yeah, not quite sure how that ground problem happened, but glad it got fixed! This amp is really hard to find anything on, or at least 6 months ago when I bought it you couldn't find anything. So I made this to try to help.
