The US is again way behind technology. Years ago I upgraded our vehicles with a E85 computer, we put a little gasoline in it to get good mpg's, but mainly we are driving on E85. Engines run better than ever, we do something for the environment, we pay less and: our money stays in the US.

anyone who believes it takes more fuel to make ethanol than you get , yet thinks extracting oil in the middle east , protecting it with soldiers sent there on diesel powered warships ,importing it to the us then refining and distributing it is more efficient proves that big oil has more marketing $ than ethanol producers do
think & research for yourselves people and corn isnt the only thing you can make it from - anything that can ferment will work. search henry ford ,rockerfeller,alcohol...
Nice try, but wrong solution. Every crop in America could be replaced with corn to make Ethanol and you still would have to import oil and lots of it. Then you have the problem of what are you going to eat? How do you feed livestock? Ethanol is not the answer, if it weren't subsidized by the government, no one would buy it because it takes about 1.5 gallons of gasoline to produce a gallon of Ethanol. Try Again...
If you eat only corn, you are malnourished rather than starving. The better of 2 evils yes, but perhaps needs a second visit to drawing board, before concluding such a sweeping generalized view.
American Ethanol, regardless of how it is made, is very good for everyone. Even if you are one of the global warming alarmists, then you have to love the low greenhouse gas emissions from burning alcohol.
