  • Should this work on a 2006 Kia Spectra EX as well?

The rubber underneath the shifter ripped out a while ago, and it looks horrible...

  • @8Reverie9 To be honest without getting my hands on it and seeing it myself it's hard to tell you an honest answer of yes or no, but I do beleive it will work if you get some kind of elastic material on the bottom to conform to the shape of the shifter bezel.

  • looks good man... alot better lol

  • @twinSTShemi Thanks lol :)

  • Neat, kinda cheap looking but neat.

  • @nightpwner There's alot of different ways to do it, no certain way of customizing this, just the first way i found. lol.

  • What brand is the shifter knob and what kind having trouble finding it

  • @jsrusso88 It was a Momo automatic shift knob from Ebay.

  • Hey, I was wondering about the over drive. I got a Suzuki Aerio Sx and the OD is on the arm, how did you get the switch? Hope you reply, thanks!

  • @troyvdj

I got the switch from autozone but you can get them anywhere, make sure it's a momentary switch. Not a toggle.

  • my car has tht same exact knob i need either the same exact one or just the button mine is broken =/ now mine looks like how it is in the video b4 u replace it =( where can i get a cheap one asap?

  • @charmed1230 Sorry for late response, but you can find them on ebay. "Automatic shifter knob"

  • what kind of shift knob is that? where did you get it from?

  • shirt with ripped off sleeves haha

  • @Maxxstaa Best way to go!

  • hey man i was wondering two things doyou have to have the OD switch? and do you have to use an elastic? reply back PM please

  • @MrMiggie4

No you don't have to use an overdrive. You just wont have the option to use your overdrive if you don't put a switch in. And also you don't have to use an elastic, but it sure helps.

  • do u know the tread size for the knob? or do they all fit?

an im gunna use a nitrous toddle swich as a od button two tricks in one.. manual and a 100 shot lol...

  • Will any boot/knob fit any car/model?

  • so where did you buy this?

  • -_-....I am way to lazy to do this

  • yo where did you get the boot and shift knob i want it it and what kinda of shift knob is it

  • Wow u made that alot harder then it had to be. lol. Looks good though. Also I ended up getting a elastic boot off of ebay that was universal and was the same grey in the car. I saw the one u used in Pepboys too but decided against it because of the red stitching. Also got a actual automatic shift knob so u don't have to mess with any of the wires except the AOD.

  • Very nice! I was doing some research and this is helpful. Seems like you have to cut the OD wires, and I'm just going to see if I can put the switch in a different place altogether since I never actually use it.

But in any case nice video :)

  • @hackersarchangel Hey thanks bud! Haha looking back I don't really know why I put it there, it was under the boot so it's hidden but if I ever want to take it off now I got a switch there, but eh it works. Make sure you get a momentary switch as well. :) Good luck!

  • @iamtheultimate I did get one but since it's momentary it doesn't stay in place (like it's intended to do that's ok) and I haven't wired that up yet since I need to tweak the base I got with my shifter knob. So question is, will the momentary switch actually work? My OD button is eitehr in or out. If it's in, it's in OD mode. If it's out, it's no on. So making sure I'm getting the right thing lol.

  • @hackersarchangel Hey, momentary isn't an "on\off" toggle, it's to momentarily connect, like imagine the button on your od. You push it and it turns on, but it's not an on\off it's a simple push button. If you were to get an on off switch it would still work, just has a different function so don't stress that if you get the wrong one it won't work. you'll be fine. :)

(Hope that answered some question? lol)

  • @iamtheultimate gotcha. OK I'll hang on to what I have lol. Just need to find a place to rewire it now. I installed my new handle and it's working fine, just a slight issue with how it shows my gears next to the shifter but honestly it's a minor deal since I have a spindle in my dash like yours.

  • hey man i just installed a new shift knob and it pushes the lever down by like 1/4 of an inch .. is that okay? i had to put it that low or else the screws would hang out .. know wt i mean?

  • @MrOjmk Not really, lol. If it's functional I suppose it works just fine! I had to do alot of shit different to mine to make it work, same with your application, it'll most likely be different, just as long as it works, and makes you happy is all that matters.

  • @iamtheultimate i have a automatic car but my car have two buttons one at the dop and one more little one at the right side .. so i can drop from 5 gear to 4 .. if i want to install a new knob what can i do with the seccond button?

  • you made this look a lot easier then it actually was lol. Well done. But i have a question, You said if you do it the other way "Its like have the button down all the time", Thats how i did mine but the car wont shut off unless the button is released. Is there a way to make it ?

  • Nice how to video, very helpful thanks!

  • @thirdgenguy17 You're welcome. :)

  • @iamtheultimate I wanted to do the same setup as you did but I decided to keep it stock but I tossed the gay original one and added a leather T-handle one from a 94 Mustang, looks a lot better, now I just have to relocate the O/D button.

  • where you get shift boot from?

  • @DSH1ZZN1T got it from the big bad autozone bud, haha. works great cause it has the elastic on it.

  • im going to do this!! XD

  • @Patron1520 Go for it :p

  • good idea but the boot was way too big

  • @MOTROIT personal preferance

  • What shift boot do you use?

  • good job man looks great nice to see some people know what the fuck there doing

  • @DemEazy Haha thanks. :p took some inventing and finding out how to do shit, but I was destermined.
