I like the brighter colours in this episode but I prefer the original because the little grey mouse is known as Nibbles rather than Tuffy and the original letter had better, more appropriate wording (e.g. "He's always hungry" rather than "He likes to eat.")
In the original cartoon, the little mouse's name was "Nibbles"; who had previously made his debut in "The Milky Waif". In this remake, it is the first time he was rechristened "Tuffy" (at least onscreen)
@na9oooooooor: Why would Tom's cousin George be sending Jerry's nephew to visit him for Thanksgiving dinner? That makes no sense, given Jerry's antagonistic relationship with Tom... Jerry's cousin is obviously a mouse; although his own relationship to Tuffy is confusing.
The only thing "new" about this one were Don Driscoll's "wide-screen" backgrounds, formatted against the original animation cels from "The Little Orphan"- the same soundtrack from the original version was also (slightly recut and) used. Apparently, H-B weren't producing enough "CinemaScope" cartoons to meet the studio's demand, so a few "remakes" from the 1949-'50 period were produced, including two of Tex Avery's: "Millionaire Droopy" {"Wags To Riches"} and "Cat's Meow" {"Ventriloquitst Cat"}.

At least this is another uncensored version. I saw this episode on CN, but it was censored the part between 6:19 and 6:33 in the video.

Seriously, there was a knife at 5:32 and he didn't use it to hit them, he used a plant and threw it at them.
