She recorded a lot and she performed extensively and I think she over used her voice before it was fully developed and now she sounds kind of raspy and has lost the clarity even a cold wouldn't account for this sound. As she got older she has moved into more bland pop genre and her voice simply doesn't stand out any longer.

I've done this song for worship before and it is not an easy song to control your breath in. I didn't hear a breath control problem, I heard the microphone gain being a little high so you could hear her inhale more pronounced. She did fine with this performance.

She performs this song just BEAUTIFULLY (I honestly rather like the way she sings this much better than her straight operatic performances). However, I don't think she is breathing right - you can hear her gasping pretty loudly between lyrics, and upon closer inspection you can tell she's breathing from her chest instead of her diaphram area. Poor girl - I think somebody didn't teach her the proper breathing techniques for a singer of her caliber. Shame on them. :(

I agree. She is so big because she was a breautiful little girl who had a nice voice and had a vibrato. Not many children sing with vibratos, so everyone was like "wow!" but they used and abused the poor girl and exploited her young voice.
Yes, I agree to a certain point. I think as she matured so did her voice and it started to lose the angelic tone that everyone feel in love in the begining of her career. But than in saying that this song doesnt show off her voice to the best of its abilities. Look up a lot of her clips when she was younger, so anglelic. She does however still have a beautiful voice, just not as pure as it once was (but voices change as you get older. Just life) I highly recomend Hayley Westenra from NewZealand

Maybe that's just the way she sings this song. 'Cause I think they'd shift the concert if she got a sore throat or anything. "Cause a sore throat doesn't give as good a performance. And this song is very high, even the lowest note is in my sort of higher-notes voice range.
Isn't it amaxing to be so good at just 16? She's amazing. Kind of like Aled Jones and Billy Gilman, both stars even as kids.

I agree. She is so big because she was a breautiful little girl who had a nice voice and had a vibrato. Not many children sing with vibratos, so everyone was like "wow!" but they used and abused the poor girl and exploited her young voice.

Yes, I agree to a certain point. I think as she matured so did her voice and it started to lose the angelic tone that everyone feel in love in the begining of her career. But than in saying that this song doesnt show off her voice to the best of its abilities. Look up a lot of her clips when she was younger, so anglelic. She does however still have a beautiful voice, just not as pure as it once was (but voices change as you get older. Just life) I highly recomend Hayley Westenra from NewZealand

She's married now with 2 children I think to a rugby player...I loved her when she was much younger..her voice was more angelic and easy listening...this is more pop than classical..
