The sound is really coming from the game/tv. The music doesn't stop but that's normal with a custom song (no guitar recorded separately, just a normal mp3).

In a custom chart, the instruments are obviously not recorded separately so the whole song just continues even when you're not playing anything. Otherwise, the guitar would stop while the band continues playing.
