  • lsd and mushrooms are the answer...well thats what i heard, not based on my experience...obviously the medics wont make money out of you taking lsd....many people said it helped them....why not try if there's no official cure :) best of luck to all that suffer

  • coffee and oxygen is true for cluster headache but pls dont call them cure but abortives. We are still far away from a cure.Still plus for ur good intentions and interesting though u dont suffer ur self.good soul u ve got there brother:)

  • my grandma had this problem but she does this breathing yoga thing called Nadi Sundhi Pranayama watch?v=MCK1jBfRVsE and shes noticed a big difference, there are other types of breathing yoga as well

  • Awesome tips, thanks!

Okay, can't stop. I'm out of control with this joke, but here goes.

Or for headaches you could just have a Muslim... chop your head off.

Yeah, it's getting kinda old. It's not funny anymore. I'll stop now.

  • @iadiedee

Yes I had one with the mask. It was a pain to get used to and I never got used to it.

  • Thanks Dr, Bret! I do get insane headaches and migraines sometimes. I shall try some these... Not sure where to get the 100% Oxygen though :P

  • Caffeine and pepitas work really well against headaches, a good supply of oxygen always helps but getting 100% pure oxygen isn't something people can do in all countries. Its probably available to the general public in America, but in other countries we usually have to do without it.

Caffeine is a stimulant, so its effects not too different to taking in some small quantity of pure oxygen, though not as effective in every possible way.

  • apparently LSD and psilocybin (magic mushrooms) can permanently cure cluster headaches

sounds pretty controversial, I cant comment on the science behind it but its fairly well reported if anyone wants to look into it

  • @yngvaibucketrucci

LSD has an awesome track record for "curing" alcoholism and addiction, as well, but it's very controversial as you said.

  • Yeah for the oxygen one sometimes the brain isn't getting enough oxygen. If your in a smoky environment say a bar and you feel a head ache coming on step outside for a little while and get some fresh air.

  • @iadiedee is that the same thing used for sleep apnea?

  • @ModernTartarus I don't know much about apnea other than many use a breather. The lady I live with has apnea but only wears a nasal canula rather than the full breather. Many people find it claustrophobic and she's one of them. The nasal canulais just the nose piece used rather than a mask.

  • To those who asked you'd get 100% oxygen through a prescription for it from your Dr. It's pretty cheap, actually. Then you inhale it through a mask or nasal canula for just 10 minutes. You can probably get tanks of it without a script, IDK. Call around to oxygen supply and find out. We get it here because the lady I care for is on O2 24/7. I'll be mentioning this to my own physician on Wed and getting a script from her if she sees the light.

  • someone tought me that b4 but in a another way, THANK YOU DOCTOR :) ,

oh BTW , why are you whispering ?

  • @salloo77yy

  • Ive heard of the caffeine one.

Where would i get 100% oxygen?

  • I'm going to share this with my mum.. she gets severe migraines that would last for 2 or 3 days. I hope this helps her. Thank you so much for sharing :)

  • I'm going to try these tips! Thx Bret !!!

  • do you have a cure for stress & not sleeping ?

  • I'll definitely try that instead of using chemicals. All natural is the best way in my opinion. By the way, where would you get 100% oxygen?

Though the medical industry seizing cures because they cant make a profit should be considered murder. I was once told that in Cuba they found an ejection that prevents cavities for life. You take it once and you'll never have it again, which is awesome. Now there's something in the news of them find a cure for cancer or at least got closer to ending it.

  • I get migraines but they don't hurt at all. I have NO headache with my migraines. Sometimes I partially loose my eye sight and the doctor said that is because of a migraine. I take Tylonol when I get them now and rest for a little while. Tylonol is the best med for migraines. I haven't tried caffeine because we don't have pop in the house but it is a very logical solution because caffeine stimulates hormones that are anti-inflamitory.

  • @qwertyfshag

Blind migraine. My wife gets them, too. She thought that she was losing her marbles until she heard about it on the radio.

You can buy caffeine pills OTC at any pharmacy for dirt cheap. My wife doesn't like soda and uses these instead.

I don't know about other areas but here in Canada you can get a Tylenol/caffeine/codeine preparation OTC, too, that works very well for cluster headaches and migraine.

  • i am ur master sir

  • My aura (precursor to the migraine) is that I go blind, numb in my arms, face, hands; loose cognitive ability to think or speak and then I get the headache. I've cut FIVE attacks using this method in the past two weeks since Bret told me.

  • @iadiedee

thank you so much for sharing doctor allan bernsteins gift to the world..i hope the word spreads

    bret

  • @clevonamerica

So do I Bret. This is the first relief I've had in literally decades. And I even looked him up on the web. His creds are awesome. Wish I was in CA to avail myself of his expertise.

  • @iadiedee

    he is a sweetheart too

  • @clevonamerica

My wife takes caffeine pills for migraine. They work well enough but I'll force some soda on her to see if it speeds things up. I watched her put her fist through a plaster wall in our bedroom from the pain and was thankful that it wasn't her head. The broken finger was hard enough to explain, imagine if I had brought her to the emerg concussed?

She gets "blind" migraines, too, where she gets every symptom but the pain. Many sufferers get these and don't realize.

    Thanks, Doc :).

  • @iadiedee

Have you ever had blind migraine where you get the symptoms but not the pain?

My wife spent a year and a half thinking that she was going crazy: Difficulty in putting thoughts to speech, messed up speech, lost time (Hours sometimes), no peripheral vision or inability to focus her eyes. We had a three hour conversation one day that she couldn't remember hours later.

She heard about blind migraine from a radio talk show on the CBC. I knew she wasn't crazy.

  • @lesterclaypool1 yes I get those most of all and they often occur in clusters - one after another - for a day or two. I don't loose time though. That sounds more like epilepsy to me than migraines. She should see a board certified neurologist to determine which it is. Preferably one that specializes in both migraines and epilepsy as their symptoms are close. I freaked out one neurologist when I pointed out to him that the pressure in my skull is so bad the top of it raises a few mm.

  • @iadiedee

Thanks for the recommendation but the Canadian government paid for a neurologist, twice. I don't know if "losing time" is the best way to describe it, it's more like the symptoms are so distracting that she's not concentrating on the task at hand and then can't recall it later?

I've heard a few people speak about cranial distention with migraines.

My wife didn't have migraines for a period of time when she drank alcohol and we don't know why. Maybe the alcohol thinning the blood?

  • I'm one who tried these methods. The Oxygen 100% for 10 minutes WORKS! I have had cluster migraine headaches since puberty (age 13). I'm now almost 47, this is the FIRST TIME I've had TOTAL relief from the aura. I've been on many medications. Few worked. I still get them. That's not going to stop. But now I have a method that cuts the aura off in it's tracks!

  • From someone who had migraine for four year, I tried everything and finally tried to go to chiropractor. I feel much better like 70% better. Thanks for the tips

  • Thank You !! Ive had a couple where I lose vision in my left eye. I will try the Coca Cola trick first.

  • @MrJohnnyrace

    good luck

    :)

  • @clevonamerica Thanks
