  • This seems like a lot of bragging about himself.

  • Man, this is good! Real good!

  • Thank you so much for saying these things. They are very important. :)

  • Josh, thanks for a great speech. As one who has done some writing in the area, I'd be happy to send you a gift copy of Dreaming Big. Paul Swets

    dreamingbigbook

  • I'd like to know what he's saying. I'm Deaf and there is no captioning option on this video.

  • @MrsJodyDBW I’m sorry I can’t take the time to write it all out for you, but he’s basically talking about how to achieve our dreams. He is a dreamer and he is talking to the dreamers of the world. He says that unfortunately most dreamers never see their ideas through, because the world gives us so many reasons not to (failures, obstacles, adverse circumstances, etc.) So what he says is that the first thing we need to do is get in touch with our inner instincts.

  • @xthisladyy . He talks about termites, about how they are born and they know what they need to do. And he relates it to us dreamers and says that we should trust and follow our inner instincts. And he says that as we pursue them we should think of ourselves like “The Very Hungry Caterpillar,” the caterpillar from the children’s story who “worms” his way through his goals.

  • @xthisladyy So he says that we should take these ideas and make them happen by committing to them, almost like a marriage, where we stick with them through thick and thin. And we should “cups and ice” our opportunities, but making the most of any opportunity to achieve our dreams, just like Phoebe did in Friends when she was given the job of being in charge of cups and ice at a party and she made the whole party cups and ice because she did so well with such a small thing.

  • @xthisladyy . And then he tells us that us dreamers will not fail, because we will always have more than one dream as we pursue our dreams. And ultimately, he says, we should remember that our first dream when we were born was to be held, and to have love.

  • @xthisladyy And he says that we should keep in mind the ultimate dream of exploring/experiencing the world and having love in our lives, because when we grow up there really is no sacrifice between work and family, it’s just that big, ultimate dream. Hope that helps!!

  • @xthisladyy And we should “cups and ice” our opportunities, **BY**making the most of any opportunity to achieve our dreams

and to clarify the end point, when we are born our first dream we ever had at birth was to be held and loved, and eventually the ultimate dream we commit to, love and family, is the one that will be the gratifying and fulfilling, so there is really no sacrifice between work and family. It's one big, ultimate dream.

  • @xthisladyy **most** gratifying and fulfilling.

sorry there is an annoying lag on my computer haha.

  • Cups & Ice - What a great huge idea! I love it!

  • Our only limitations are those we set up in our own minds. Your story proves what can happen once we realize the sky is the limit. GREAT talk!

  • Awesome and powerful message. This I definately have to share with my FB family and friends. Thanks, Josh! You are an inspiration for us all:)

  • Omg Josh Levs is a great speaker. This motivates so many people.

  • Good looking child, Dream on and understand many do not understand the dreamers.

  • This has got to be the most personal, engaging, not-purely-intellectual (ergo, pertinent) TED talk I've heard.

My perception is that this talk would be good for people of all ages, from those starting out to those at any passage of their lives.

I can well understand how fears (e.g., financial fears) can make us avoid committing to dreams or even finding those dreams in the first place. Inspirational, not just informational.

Kudos to the articulate, mild-mannered superhero!

  • i was moved and enthused to see a young person who gets it already..it's taken me 53yrs..dykes on disc
