hoffman was refering to a guy who went to prison for a couple of joints, intentionally to bring attention to the rediculous penalties for possesing marijuana, only he forgot to ask pete for a few seconds on the stage, so pete thought he was a rude asshole, true but you must remember hoffman was all fked up on acid and various other drugs so his judgement was definitely impared.
