That was amazing! Their moves were so sharp & beautiful! I was almost sure it was camera trickery in the beginning becuse of the background throw-off! But that was awesome!

How wonderful how the Chinese Nation recognizes the Mother Goddess-the origin of all creation, the source of protection and the giver of love and mercy. And how beautiful Her powers are expressed! In China She is called Quan Yin, in India Shri Durga Ma, In the West She is Mother Mary, but She is the same at any time. She is again incarnated and we have to realize that we are all one and Her powers are in us and can act any time for the protection of the good and the destruction of evil.

Sorry, i don't really want to be the negative nelly here, but your statement is - to cut it to the bones - VERY simplistc. I see what your point would like to be, but there couldn't be two more different conceptions than Durga and VIRGIN Mary.
Isn't assimilation cool...I guess da Chinese had to alter the deity of Durga so they could fully comprehend her in their own culture...cool! shows that evreything is connected in some way!

Mother Durga is the mother of the Universe, not just for hindus, though hindus have extolled her virtues the most by far...however,this is a beautiful creation.
if it's Durga it is not also 1000 Handed buddha.

This is Guan Yin (called Kwannon in japan). She is a bodhisattva (a form of) Amitabha Buddha.
