  • 10 mins 350 degrees and the plastic parts are intact?

  • @doomizz yup

    -Lavco

  • ur so gay

  • @Aimanrulez you're so mad

    -Price

  • Sweet I'm going to do this with my working GTX 570 just for the fun of it lol

  • Google translate: Edit the danish Word: dine lungs - your lungs. Google are not perfect...

  • Yes, yes, very smart, and you save a wimpy 8800 GT card for 1-2 more years, but what about the smell of Epoxy when you print warms up to 200 -300 degrees, and you can smell a foul odor, then dinne lungs already received a dose of epoxy and epoxy fumes come into the blood ... Do you think it is smart to throw 20-40år away of one's life, to present a wimpy video card, once you are told you have cancer ..?

  • Do it to your Gigabyte UD7 (you have a warranty i know).

  • Works fine with mine. 8800 gts... :) 200 degrees C 10min.

  • I have been working with computers for a long time and have never seen anyone do something so stup....i mean silly as this. I thought it was a joke but y'all were serious. Are you serious?

Explain the science of this. I'm still typing cause I can't believe my eyes!

  • @groundwire123 It works by re soldering some of the contact points of some of the components of the card. And yes I does work. Atleast it did for me and a bunch of others.

    -Lavco

  • @LavcoPriceTech I can't believe it. This actually freakin worked. My 8800GT was starting to crap out and I was sad that I would have to buy a new one. Even if this is just a temporary fix, I'll take it. You guys rock!

  • @Darkchyld85 Great! Thank you!

    -Lavco

  • @groundwire123 I was iffy at first too, but after hearing alot of peoples success I gave it a try and it worked. May not make sense to you, and you may not believe your eyes, but the fact of the matter is that it worked for me and others.

  • @groundwire123 yes it does really work, but only if it resolders the faulty connection, otherwise ur knackered!

  • Did allmost as in this vid. except i used a diner plate to put my card on to be sure that no steal or aluminium would do any damage. This worked for me and my card is now up up online :) Tnx for this tip, I will def. give a thump up.

    Btw 350F=180c

  • @xziizx thank you, I am glad it worked for you

    -Price

  • Do I pre-heat the oven, or just let it warm up while the card is in there?

  • @heej091 we pre heated it

    -Price

  • Hi,

My 8800GTS show lines across the screen. It still works, only with vertical lines on top of the screen (wich change colours from post to windows by the way).

Is is worth it trying this fix? Or is this a chip problem wich won't be fixed?

  • @NickyTheRook I would wait till the card completely dyes first because this could ruin a working card

    -Price

  • How will it looks like if my chip is burned

  • will this works for burned chips also how to recognize whether my chip is burned or not my cpu fan is still working but i cant see any thing its artifacts every where

  • @MegaANEEQUE Take card apart and look at chip

    -Lavco

  • hey plz tell me that today my msi nx8800gt stops working when i restart it a smoke came from it and i turned it off. after few hours i started it again it starts the fan works but it shows artifacts all over the screen . should i do this technique or is my gpu chip is burned

  • @MegaANEEQUE if you don't have a warranty left, you could try throwing it in the oven, its not a guaranteed fix though.

    -Price

  • The speaker is there because they screech horribly if you forget to connect the pci-e power. You know you want to try it.

For anyone wondering, in my experience this works on all the g80/g92 cards as well as gf200 chips so that's your 8800s, 9600gso, 9800gt/gtx/gx2, 260 and 280. I've never tried (never had to try actually) the 55nm chips though (gf200b and g92b).

Works great for buying dead cards on ebay and flipping them for a small profit.

  • @94XJ Good tip!!

    -Lavco

  • Thanks, worked for my 8800 gtx ^^

  • @robheleie sweet

    -Price

  • btw, i have one question. If I gonna play high performance games with my baked card, are there any possibilities that my card gonna die again soon?

  • @Cyraxas007 possible because the idea behind it is that the card became hot and desolderd some components and the baking resolders them so if it desolders again it will not work.

    -Price

  • it prolly smells funny from that disgusting tray! it looks u heated up some left over zombie on it

  • @VictumvilleSlugger Mmmm I do love me zombies

    -Lavco

  • do i have to use the thermal compound stuff? or can i use something else.

  • @kalonjikalonji the way we showed is the way it needs to be doen

    -Price

  • @LavcoPriceTech ok, another question. some people say the gpu should turn up so the parts don't fall off. but you guys are doing the opposite. why's that?

  • @LavcoPriceTech btw thanks!! it actually worked. :DD

  • @kalonjikalonji yay

    -Price

  • yesterday i baked my 8800gt and it works perfect now ,To test it ive played a lil bit of NFS: Shift and my baked 8800gt rolls it like a champ :)

  • @Cyraxas007 awesome that it works

    -Price

  • does the temp./ heat time depend on the size of the video card?

  • @godzilla603 Nope.

    -Lavco

  • the thermal paste was not clean properly. use rubbing alcohol and microfiber towel and it will turn out much better.

  • @arsenal553 ??? it worked, how can I turn out better?

    -Price

  • @LavcoPriceTech There is a different between just working and doing a quality job. And besides, whats wrong with taking good care of your things.

  • @arsenal553 its a graphics card, it can't decide to do a bad job because it wants to

    -Price

  • @LavcoPriceTech I wasn't talking about the graphics card.

  • @LavcoPriceTech Simply put, if you have an opportunity to do something better, then do it. Don't botch your work just because you can.

  • @arsenal553 sure bro

    -Lavco

  • Lol . Lets Bake The Graphics Card With Some Turkey Jerky . XD

  • @97221135 hahah

    -Lavco

  • @LavcoPriceTech

it's Asus Gaming Series graphics, so 2 yrs only... i have it since it release.. 2008 ..

  • @LavcoPriceTech

also im gettin artifacts even in bios.. so could Your tip help ?

  • @Davidopoland Ah then yes try this. My 460 was doing that! So I stuck it in the oven and it works once more =]

    -Lavco

  • Nice work started this process with my old GTX 280 but realized it wasn't worth voiding whatever warranty I had left from eVGA. Sad part is I still haven't gotten back to them about RMAing the card hope they still will do it and wonder what card they would send me if they actually did take it. One thing to note is they will know you baked it as it changes the color of the PCB slightly, and some things can melt as your speaker did on that 8800GT.

  • @ComputerTechTV Yup def! But I had no warranty or nothing so it was my option

    -Lavco

  • @LavcoPriceTech No warranty I would do same thing if its still dead after baking, well hey not like you are losing anything.

  • It was my first GFX too =) Works still today.

  • @TheTerriblePuddle Great card!!

    -Lavco

  • 2:24 bwhahahah dude I couldnt stop laughing at ur facial expression, nice vid btw

  • @Lionheart1188 Hahahaha good catch =]

    -Lavco

  • Nice video. I've heard about baking pcb based electronics to re-sodder the connections, but this is the first time I've seen it in video.

  • @marcoso94 Well it def worked!!!

    -Lavco

  • did this ACTUALLY work!?

  • @LittleBigR1 It only works on some cards

  • @MrRageaholic1 Might as well try if its the last resort.

    -Lavco

  • @LittleBigR1 YUP =D
