@retrochad I picked up a Motorola console radio/phonograph last week made in May 1965 that is transistorized. The changer was made in 1963. They have a nice sound.
Very nice fine. Unless this model is really different there is only one large center channel speaker like other Motorola consoles of this era. The center speaker is 15" woofer and there are smaller speakers on each side. Although it sounds hoaky it works really well and sounds good. I have a nearly identical model but with a transistor amp and the same vacuum tube tuner.
LOVE THE BUMPER STICKER! AMEN TO THAT! The radio is really retro! I too love those dials are very space age! I also like the tone arm, very slimline and 60's ish! Reminds me of the mic that the presenter on Match Game used to use during the 70s.
I saw a motorola some years back at an antiques store. I remember it having a really neat looking lattice grill. I think the dials and record changer were the same as seen here.
I think the darker colored Magnavox extension speaker I have would look neat with this console.
A tuning eye is more gimmick than anything else, but it's suppose to help you tune a station in. The more "closed" the eye, the better the reception. In this case it looks like a bar graph, the more signal you have, the more lighted bar you get. It's a "You can do without it" feature added to some higher end radios in the golden days of radio, but it's cool. The tube is actually a little Cathode Ray Tube, kin to today's picture tubes.
Thatz a very beautiful Rola stereo and I love those radio dials too. When I 1st saw those dails, I thought it was a R2R tape deck. The tonearm on the TT looks to be a lightweight one. Probably would mind playing my precious vinyl on it unlike the ones with heavy tonearms.

It looks like there had been a CRT that was taken out and replaced with a piece of paneling.

that would make it a 2.1 seince the 2 smaller speakers act as a left channe and right channel and a woofer/sub

Really nice console!
I like the style of the tuner. I like the seperate AM and FM dials, and it even looks like a R2R deck. Cool!
Nice cabinet too. Looks real classy.

The Vibrasonic should sound really cool, like an old-time Top 40 radio station. I like the Conelrad triangle markers on the AM dial.

WOW that is cool looking. It will be interesting to see it working. I hope the dials are lit from the back, that would be amazing looking.
