In fairness this build might be 6+ months old. They still have a few more months of polish till release. But I hope it improves... alot. The models and all look very nice but they need to tighten this game up alot to make it a good experience.... and it better have some interesting multiplayer, because that is 75% reason i purchase PC games now.

sophisticated artificial intelligence MY ASS!!! the 2010 Aliens vs. Predator game had more sophisticated A.I. for the Xenomorphs than this game seems to show,as well as more realistic health effects and acid-blood effects. The scout aliens dont move fast enough, they do a good job of making them pop out of every location, but they really have unnatural movement, like they aren't creatures. Everything is way too shiny, unfortunately it feels like borderlands graphics, which doesn't translate over to the dark movies, where half the point is that its hard to see what is killing you. That is what creates the fear of aliens, also acid blood doesn't seem to do anything. *ahem* Point blank shotgun blast.
I hope that, in last stand situations, you get a couple minutes to seal as many vents and doors as possible in order to increase your chances of survival. after all, a lazy player is a dead player.

I personally want an intelligent tactical game. Level design switching between rescue ops to securing areas or ultimately last-stand levels, where you detail your squad to the barricading of zone. You, the player are held in suspense, awaiting to see when, and how many xenos breach your barricades. Evac, or chase levels that have you scrambling to gather your marines to one eva point, with xenos picking off crucial team-members, without whom, completing may not be possible.
If a squad-mate NPC, was killed, a rescue operation to the hive zone could be an optional level. Especially if said NPC was crucial to later gameplay. Additionally, rescue ops could also be a gamble, sometimes resulting in the rescue of an impregnated marine...
Other details: Having an APC, or Dropship where you can order the operator/pilot to drop your squad at one of numerous entry points to a level to tactical benefit, allowing you to choose the order of levels/ locations played.

being a huge aliens fan i get shivers on my back when i watch this demo. Hell, i grew up watching aliens and now i can't get them out of my head, this is a good thing 'cause i don't want this to happen.
The game looks great and shows the Alien environment realisticly. But the gameplay may be a bit too arcade and the blood splashes look pretty outdated. But overall I think it's going to be a better game than the last Alien vs. Predator.

Apparently the reason there are new Xeno types is from the detonation of the APS, releasing enough radiation to mutate surviving Xenos. That’s bull. The radiation would kill the Marines, and the place would be hot for 100's of years. Instead of radiation, the reason for the Crusher should be a form of evolution, like a Praetorian, and act like a Xeno tank, to get into those hard to access buildings. After all, they’ve been at Hadley’s hope for a about a year. Who knows how they might adapt?
I know their studio did what they could with Duke Nukem, and now they're pretty much finishing up this game as well. However, looking at this right now already looks ten times better than Duke.

Im glad this is still a work in progress. Lightning is PRETTY nice. GZ are ok, textures are good too. Only watching on youtube dont realy justify this i dont think. As for the blood, meh, its still ESRB non rated so i cant see them going all out just yet, Looks ok though, hope the rest of levels are as dark, AVP was too linear hope this game does not follow suit.

Take away the blue sillouete showing the place where to put the sentry turret. It really ruins the immersion and i think people can figure out where it should go on their own.

I'm liking what I'm seeing, needs to be scarier though. As far as story, does this take place directly after "Aliens" or "Alien 3"? Either way, being on the Sulaco needs to be explained. That's where Ripley and the crew are hybernating (even in Alien 3 the ship was evacuated).
Alien Trilogy for some strange reason I found to be the scariest out of all games to come out of the franchise. Although AVP 1 was pretty scary too. AVP 2 had it's moments, AVP 3 wasn't scary at all, cool but not scary. Aliens Colonial Marines looks like a rushed game I'm afraid, but then again maybe it will surprise us, stay frosty. It's just a demo.

@ItzTheJP A full clip on a pulse rifle CAN be 99 but that doesn't mean the clips they are using are full. Given their situation, it would be better to spread the ammo out so everyone has a few spare clips.

Gearbox please make long and challenging as hell campaign and an excellent multiplayer. Fix sounds of players rifle and sentry turret. Graphic enhancement and sped up motion tracker and no red dots on it. Adult dialoge, no scripted story. Completely customize character. Strong story please
You guys have to remember, this game is practically a couple of years old already. This game was being developed since 2007 I believe but they had to delay production. So of course it won't have Battlefield graphics or Call of Duty graphics.
My only gripe with this game is really the acting, the lighting, and the textures. Other than that it looks pretty good to me. Be happy there's still another 5 months or something left until release.
And they wonder why video games based on movies are always such a fail with the audience...its because they either pull this shit and completely ruin the real feel of the movie itself. OR because the game creators believe its enough to give a fan the ability to play through a world seen in a movie...
The gameplay looks great, though. Not quite as moody as Alien Trilogy, but amazing.

Instead of radiation, the reason for the Crusher should be a form of evolution, like a Praetorian, and act like a Xeno tank, to get into those hard to access buildings. After all, they’ve been at Hadley’s hope for a about a year. Who knows how they might adapt?

Am I the only one to notice the Facehugger inside the jar? Didn't Burke release the only 2 living ones when trying to 'hive' Ripley and Newt? Oh, and by the way, It's only a demo. the action probably isn't quite this intense and the acid blood probably isn't added yet.

Im glad this is still a work in progress. Lightning is PRETTY nice. GZ are ok, textures are good too. Only watching on youtube dont realy justify this i dont think. As for the blood, meh, its still ESRB non rated so i cant see them going all out just yet, Looks ok though, hope the rest of levels are as dark, AVP was too linear hope this game does not follow suit.

Take away the blue sillouete showing the place where to put the sentry turret. It really ruins the immersion and i think people can figure out where it should go on their own.

im a big fan of the alien film, been watching then since i was like 5 and now im almost 18, this game looks very fun, good story line, obviously there gunna have to change some things because its a game, aliens need to be abit hard to kill so it has the playable factor about it, there are some things i dont like like the blood splatter, it looks like paint common but if they listen to the fans they should be alright

I'm liking what I'm seeing, needs to be scarier though. As far as story, does this take place directly after "Aliens" or "Alien 3"? Either way, being on the Sulaco needs to be explained. That's where Ripley and the crew are hybernating (even in Alien 3 the ship was evacuated).

Alien Trilogy for some strange reason I found to be the scariest out of all games to come out of the franchise. Although AVP 1 was pretty scary too. AVP 2 had it's moments, AVP 3 wasn't scary at all, cool but not scary. Aliens Colonial Marines looks like a rushed game I'm afraid, but then again maybe it will surprise us, stay frosty. It's just a demo.

Gearbox please make long and challenging as hell campaign and an excellent multiplayer. Fix sounds of players rifle and sentry turret. Graphic enhancement and sped up motion tracker and no red dots on it. Adult dialoge, no scripted story. Completely customize character. Strong story please

You guys have to remember, this game is practically a couple of years old already. This game was being developed since 2007 I believe but they had to delay production. So of course it won't have Battlefield graphics or Call of Duty graphics.
My only gripe with this game is really the acting, the lighting, and the textures. Other than that it looks pretty good to me. Be happy there's still another 5 months or something left until release.
