Valentino did the majority of the machine development and it's no question that the team was built up to the way it is now because of Valentino Rossi. Rossi left Honda for several reasons. Honda's philosophy is that "Its all about the bike" and this is totally contrary to Rossi's beliefs. Racing is about the rider. Riders make champions ... not motorcycles. Valentino is 100% correct and he proved in 2004 that it is NOT about the bike, when he absolutely flogged all those Hondas on a slow Yamaha that no-one thought could win. Rossi was looking for a new challenge Something exciting. Riding his whole carrer on the Honda would be easy and boring.

No one can say for sure what is going to happen in 2011. But if i had to guess i would say the top three will be Lorenzo, Stoner, Rossi. But we can forget about the rest of the pack either. Pedrosa will be racing his heart out after he missed his title shot so close last year due to injury. Rossi is going to be getting used to the Desmosedici and honing with the crew to perfection, as they say "Rome was not built in a day". As much as people hate, Lorenzo is the Champion until that is taken.

Nice little collection of images.... but what is the deal with the comment that Rossi left Honda because it was not "competitive" (note spelling).... definitely not the case. The Yamaha was slower, did not perform as well. Then he helped develop and mold the bike into what it is now. And it's still not the fastest in a straight line. Hondas have always had the speed (and I'm a Yamaha fan BTW)

Dai test di Valencia è risultato che a Valentino piace molto il motore che spinge tanto, e l'ottima trazione sul posteriore. Ha fatto sapere però che l'anteriore è un pò ballerino, e forse questo si sapeva già, visto le numerose cadute di Stoner di quest'anno.
Filippo preziosi e compagnia varia dovranno trovare la giusta soluzione, e se la trovano saranno veramente cazzi amari per tutti.

Rossi left Honda for several reasons. Honda's philosophy is that "Its all about the bike" and this is totally contrary to Rossi's beliefs. Racing is about the rider. Riders make champions ... not motorcycles. Valentino is 100% correct and he proved in 2004 that it is NOT about the bike, when he absolutely flogged all those Hondas on a slow Yamaha that no-one thought could win. Rossi was looking for a new challenge Something exciting. Riding his whole carrer on the Honda would be easy and boring.

No one can say for sure what is going to happen in 2011. But if i had to guess i would say the top three will be Lorenzo, Stoner, Rossi. But we can forget about the rest of the pack either. Pedrosa will be racing his heart out after he missed his title shot so close last year due to injury. Rossi is going to be getting used to the Desmosedici and honing with the crew to perfection, as they say "Rome was not built in a day". As much as people hate, Lorenzo is the Champion until that is taken.

@unknownwizdom Don't get me wrong, Lorenzo is a great rider, but he was being schooled by vale, and he has 100% of his secrets now, which no other rider was ever able to do because they weren't smart enough. This is why Rossie left, because he knew, now he needs his Ducati to beat him. Ducati is where he was suppose to be all along. It was built for him. Vale for life.

@shaajohn Here's the catch, Honda are going to be better than yamaha this year FACT. yamaha will try to improve the bike but will start to make modification's that most probably will get bad feedback from lorenzo and different feedback from spies. Nice little collection of images.... but what is the deal with the comment that Rossi left Honda because it was not "competitive" (note spelling).... definitely not the case. The Yamaha was slower, did not perform as well. Then he helped develop and mold the bike into what it is now. And it's still not the fastest in a straight line. Hondas have always had the speed (and I'm a Yamaha fan BTW)

Forse ti stai dimenticando che alla yamaha adesso c'è Lorenzo, che non è proprio un pilota da 2 soldi. E' forte e ha la miglior moto di adesso. Sarà molto difficile batterlo l'anno prossimo.
C'è anche da dire che, come hai detto tu, Rossi aveva fatto lo stesso quando era passato dalla honda alla yamaha, però in quel periodo il livello non era alto come adesso. C'erano Gibernau e Biaggi, erano forti, ma non come il Lorenzo o Stoner di adesso.

Quello che mi lascia nel dubbio di Lorenzo è la capacità di sviluppare la moto : forse l'anno prossimo andrà ancora forte, ma sono curioso di vederlo quando ci sarà da sviluppare le nuove 1000!!!!!!Vale ha dimostrato di essere il migliore in questo campo, vedremo Lorenzo!!!

Lorenzo è forte, la yamaha è forte e quindi quasi perfetto.
Il talento si vede quando riesci a far andare forte una moto non perfetta. E sul talento di Vale non si discute.
Dovrà impegnarsi al 150% per mettere le ruote davanti a Lorenzo.
Ma se riescono a sistemare l'anteriore ciao, non ce ne sarà per nessuno. Speriamo che riescano però!

Dai test di Valencia è risultato che a Valentino piace molto il motore che spinge tanto, e l'ottima trazione sul posteriore. Ha fatto sapere però che l'anteriore è un pò ballerino, e forse questo si sapeva già, visto le numerose cadute di Stoner di quest'anno.
Filippo preziosi e compagnia varia dovranno trovare la giusta soluzione, e se la trovano saranno veramente cazzi amari per tutti.
