  • best Harry Caray impersonator around!

  • TRUE Harry Caray story. In 1997 he got in the habit of figuring out how a player's last name would be pronounced if it were spelled backwards. At an Expos game, Mark Grudzielanek comes up to bat...so Harry says, "You know, if Grudzielanek spelled his name backwards (then a few seconds of silence).....I wouldn't be at all surprised.." Then he went on to call play by play.

  • I once heard him say during a Cubs game at Wrigley on a sweltering, humid night, "What a great night to drink beer!!!"

  • Not even close. The best Harry impersonation, by far is Jim Volkman's.

  • He has the funniest lines and best impression.

  • Meh, I think Will Ferrells is better.

  • hahaha there's a triple play

  • For another shot at the impression, search Harry Caray on Terry Mulholland. Cubs Win! Cubs Win!! I gave it my best :)

  • I love the way he used to point out people in the crowd and be like "There's Fred and Deloris Yates. They're up here all the way from Russellville, Kentucky, celebrating their 32nd wedding anniversary. Fred is a shift manager at Logan Aluminum and Deloris is the junior English teacher at Logan County High School... Go Cougars!" or something like that... When I was a kid, I didn't understand that people were telling him these things about the people he was talking about...

  • This guy and will ferrell's impersonations are too high pitched. Not that great.

  • This is so imperfect its perfect.

  • totally inebriated

  • I heard that Harry Carays soul remains in purgatory until the cubs win a world series......Poor Harry's gonna be there forever.

  • 0:21-1:51 LOL!!

  • @Nick94956 hey asshole, thats the whole video.

  • @GuiltyGeist3000 That's the point so shut up

  • Harry was the best! I grew up in S. Georgia, so we had the Braves on TBS. Our cable provider started carrying WGN, and we were hooked immediately! Loved to hear him gush about Ryne Sandberd and Jody Davis!!

  • I know you like sports, that's why I sent this one!! :)

  • True Cub fans could never accept an announcer who cut his teeth with the Cardinals, and made his name with the White Sox.

Did you bandwagon cub fans even know that?

Ronny Santo, and Pat Hughes forever.

  • thank you for informing me of that sir... ha

  • my dad's a white sox fan. he always likes to point that out that he was with them first.

  • @Caveboy Ummm, feel free to tell your dad that actually Harry was with the Cardinals from the 1940s until 1969, I believe. So there. Actually, he was an excellent announcer in his early years - descriptive, right on the money with his calls. Only in his later years on WGN did he begin to be perceived as buffoonish.

  • lol this guys great

  • That is soooo perfect...but it was part of Harry's success, I think. Like just going to the ballpark with your uncle, who'd fill in all the gaps where nothing much was going on on the field. Just havin' a Bud, yammering on about everything under the sun, watching baseball. You could do worse. And don't forget, the Cubs lost all the time for most of his years, so he had to make some kind of experience out of it, something worthwhile to stay three hours for.

  • LOL!

I'm a Rangers fan first, but a Cubs fan at a very close second, and this is great.....

    Harrey Carey RIP!

  • haha

  • Funny

  • John is his name Caponera :)), not Campanera

  • This was pretty good, actually. Nailed the sentiment and gets the phrasing of the words down pat.

  • umm...you, you're not good.

  • fuck you, thats my friends dad!

  • "Better than this clown."

    I'm guessing you meant CLONE???

  • It's not about who does the better impression, it's about who has the better material. You can be dead on but if it's not funny then who cares? It could just be remotely close to the actual voice but if it's funny then it works.

  • Good point. I always thought that the guy from Mad Tv has an almost completely dead on impression of Bush; the best around. But Ferrel, who still does a fairly accurate impression, has much better material.

  • whatever dude Jim Volkman sounds identical to him and dresses the part too! so uh WHATEVER DUDE!

  • this guy sucks search on here for Jim Volkman he does the best Harry impersonations ever, period. sounds just like him. Better than this clown.

  • whatever dude, this guy really knows harry and not to mention he has impersonated harry in person and could not tell them apart.

  • Jim Volkman

    watch?v=nylZC95R890

  • This isn't as bad as the commercials he does, hes also my cousin

  • Will Ferrell kicks this guys butt. He gets the "Heeyyyy!" down, but everything else sucks.

  • Will Ferrell's impersonation blows goats. Campanera's is now just a weak, watered-down version of Ferrell's.

Jim Volkman did a better Harry than Harry did himself. It's a damn shame that there's not endless audio clips of him on youtube.

  • do a search on jim shorts harry etc. in youtube - kevin matthews used to use Volkman a lot on the radio. Volkman truly is the best. Will Ferrel's seems to be more of a caricature - while campanera's is trying to be accurate. But volkman is the still the best

  • This guy blows A**, come to Chicago and try making fun of Harry Carey you will get your A** kicked. John Caponera is the worst comedian ever F****** Moran

  • At&t Should get sued.

  • This guy sucks JIm Volkman was the best Harry ever

  • Perfect!

  • This comedian absolutely SUCKS!!

  • This guy does a brutal Harry! It doesn't sound anything like the way Harry did. Give it up pal!

  • what are you talking about he sounds just like him stop hating on him

  • I think he's doing the AT&T commercials

  • will ferrell is just as good.. but campanera is pretty chill too...

  • As a kid I gre up listening to Harry and Jack Buck as the Cardinals went to 3 World Series in 5 years. Too bad the magic didn't rub off on the Cubs.

Campanera's best is the bit about Davey Concepcion losing a pop-up in the sun.

  • It's funny because it's true. And this man is a proud alumnus of Sigma Delta and Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois.

  • No one has equaled Caponera's brilliant Harry Caray impression.

  • Campanara nails it. He gets Harry.

  • this is better than will farrell, its real, its stuff Harry would actually say.

  • Jon Caponera's from the south side.

  • so's my brudder.

    go souttttttt side.

  • he just talks about normal stuff, will ferrell makes up shit and it makes it funnier.

  • not better than Will Farrell

  • Both benches are empty. Lmao

  • his impression blows away will ferrell's!

  • Nice.
