@lplulnl Double Strike already is first strike so adding first strike will have no effect, Double Strike and First strike are the same but Double strike also gets to attack again unlike just first strike
Surely doublestrike is useless then, as the blocker is removed from the battlefield after the first strike damage hits, te second damage that hits must go to the player as there are no blocking creatures.
Wizards, yet again you baffle me with your anti-logic and ineffective rules.
question, when one of my creatures atacks in my turn , he will get tapped, but the question is , he is not going to be able to block cause its tapped ? (sorry for my english im new at the game and im loving it so i really want to understand it to 100%)
@edarion01 If your double strike creature did not have trample the defending player would not take any damage, however if your creature had trample they would take 9 damage. 1 of the first strike damage would kill the spawn and 4 would be assigned to the defending player, then during the second combat damage step your creature would deal its full 5 damage to the defending player because there are no creatures on the battlefield blocking it.
What if you attack directly to the player with double strike? suppose, i attack with a 5/5 i make 5 points of damage with the first attack and another 5 points with the second attack? or only 5 of the first attack? Please answer!!
@diegosvega if u attack with a 5/5 creature with double strike to a defending player, that creatured deals 10 damages to that player. ( 5 damage due to first strike, and another 5 damage due to normal combat dmg)
what will happen if a First Striker/Double Striker on another First Striker/Double Striker? no damage? or first the most damage and later the less damage? if two first/double strikers have the same force and resistance?
this manages to make magic boring. impressive.

@SubSatellite Exactly. Once you use a creature to attack, unless it has a special ability, it cant be used to block.

my 5/5 doublestrike attacks you block with an eldrazi spawn.
No damage is dealt to the defending player right???
Now if this was a 5/5 Double strike with trample. then the defending player takes 4 damage right?

What if you block with a creature with double strike from one attacking creature?
Say a 2/2 that is blocked by a 3/3 double strike?
I know it can kill it easy but will it deal an extra 3 damage with the 2nd offense?

Anyone know where the hell you can get one of those two-player playmats? They're pretty kickass and I wouldn't mind getting ahold of one.

Im still stuck with If a creature with double strike AND trample AND/OR Lifelink
if there are no blockers for teh second combat step, will it get to assign damage again?
eladamcio 2 years ago
yes it still gets to deal damage to the player on the 2nd combat step
jwmints 2 years ago
this is confusing...........i thought that double strike means double that offense counter..................
so the double strike means that you do the attack twice but in the first attack, the attacker doesn't get any combat damage from the blocker, right?
can someone correct me if im wrong???
jeddeliso 2 years ago
That's correct.
If you have a 3/3 double strike block a 6/1, your creature will survive (the 6/1 never gets a chance to deal regular damage).
