Hey man, I've been learning this tune for a week just by watching and hearing it by ear. I almost got it down and I'm just wondering If I can do a tutorial for your viewers on your tune. Please reply. I've been a fan of your videos for a while.
All recorded on Cubase - all acoustic recorded sound apart from some RMX snare samples real time triggered rather than sequenced - so no click track .
I try not to comment on videos, but i just had to say (being a fellow ukulele player), that this was by far the funniest ukulele video I have ever seen. Not weird funny, but joyful!
Not only did have an element of humor, but i MUST commend you for the creativeness of the video.
This video makes me laugh like i'm a little kid hearing something great!
Heh thanks for sharing daddio!!! Dang you make beautiful music.....and I love your commentary as well.... don't change a thing.... I'll check your site out...and see about getting a disk. I've been playing for a looooooong time. Two time songwriter of the year in western canada.... can I steal....Oh I promise not to......but its sweet mate
Looks like you've got a really unusual collection of instruments there Mr Ediblesponge. Very best of luck to you with converting your children's guitar and let me know if you get stuck at all. Piers
Nut to 12th fret is 230ml. Tenor tuning is particular, same as other uke's, in that it has the octave D string. This gives it its character. All the best - Piers
I was given it. Attics and garage sales are full of them because parents buy them for their kids who then gravitate toward consoles. Pick one up for nothing and convert it. Piers
Born on a farm where the ear was more important than the intellect, maybe. Who knows who's right or what right even is. Thus spake the Ukes when massed in a banana grove. In a downpour.
it would be so nice if you could somehow post a tutorial or some tabs to show how to play that BEAUTIFUL tune of yours...i will so buy your CD..this makes me want to cry
Wow, that tune was great! Release a CD and I will not only buy it, but tell everyone I know to buy it as well! It's a great sound that you put together there!
Glad you like it. Don't know exactly what its about - but its not really about the Uke. Has some weird atmosphere which is vaguely comforting ! Thanks for the post. Piers
Thanks Ric. Think I should make it a piece ?! I'm cooking up a uke CD in a slow and disorganised kinda way. Maybe I'll stretccchhhhh this tune a little. Piers
You think so? A friend says it is folly to tune it as the length of the neck would be too much for the strings. So who is right? Have you actually tried it? I don't want to try it yet as the bari and strings are new and I don't want to get into a project that would consume too much time for an unknown outcome.
Thanks for the feedback
Sorry Piers to use your video comment area as a forum. Why did you chose GDBba tuning? It's not common is it?
I've got to ask, is this an homage to Bonzo's "The Intro And The Outro"? - Adolf Hitler on vibes . . . Princess Anne on Sousaphone . . . etc - see watch?v=rF2HozqQ22I - great stuff tho. Ta for posting.
coo, I don't know if I could better The Bonzos! Mother Theresa on stand-up bass maybe? (BTW a wee bit of advice if you're thinking of doing a "Burp!" mark2 - give them something fizzy! - very sweet kids tho)
I'll see what I can do. Its a strange one because I actually double pick one string (first with the thumb and then with the first finger to get that ripple sound. Be patient and I may get there !
the raspy chortle at the end made it true BLUE to me. Have enjoyed your posts immensely, your enjoyment comes through. I look forward to seeing more of the "best ... in the world" series. Thanks mate!
