  • Hi,

very relaxing song. Can you tell me what program did you use for sound effects in this song?

Thanks, keep up the good work.

  • All recorded on Cubase - all acoustic recorded sound apart from some RMX snare samples real time triggered rather than sequenced - so no click track .

  • Comment removed

    (as usual)

  • brilliant. love this one, man!

  • That last string sounds like an F to me.

  • Great to see that there are still some people that compose what like to call 'real music' - not all of that rapping rubbish. Loved it 5/5

  • @Willwec828 Yeah, it could do with some lyrics though.

Maybe call up one of those "Rubbish" rappers.

  • That is the most wonderful thing - awesome!

  • I try not to comment on videos, but i just had to say (being a fellow ukulele player), that this was by far the funniest ukulele video I have ever seen. Not weird funny, but joyful!

Not only did have an element of humor, but i MUST commend you for the creativeness of the video.

This video makes me laugh like i'm a little kid hearing something great!

    Thank You Coveywood!

instant subscribe just cuz youre so frickin cool

  • does the tenor or the soprano have the tuning GCEA

  • that isnt correct ukulele tuning... it should be GCEA

  • I'm sure you're right. But then teenagers love things to be "correct". Old guys like me tend to go a little crazy. :-)

  • it sounded great nonetheless

  • Thank you young man :-)

  • your voice sounds like morris from 24

...and on another note, sweet song

  • "g-minor" tuning?

  • the Mike Oldfield of the naughtys... ;-))

  • That is just....effing enchanting! love it!

  • effing enchanting ! I shall hang on to that. :-)

  • 2nd that - could you make some smooth ones like this please?

  • can i tune my tenor in standard gcea w/out breaking the g string?

  • coveywood that was insane shit you own

  • damn this was sexy, no homo

  • I want your voice so frikin bad!

  • I'll wrap it up in brown paper and post it to you. :-)

  • That was most enjoyable!

    Progressive musical build up

    from a simple Ukelele.....with

    a touch of humour! Encore!

  • did you adjust the action of the uke once the strings were in place?

  • Only at the nut end - bit of nifty filing with a baby hacksaw ! PP

  • Mmmmm, so smooth... Got tabs?

  • Sorry scsesc, but no.

  • Amazing 5/5!

Do you have tab for this?

  • I am the most musically uneducated person I know - no tabs I'm afraid !

  • How did you evenly put the ukulele strings in? Or did you? I would really like to know how you set it up.

  • Next time I get given a child size guitar I'll make a video for you on how to convert. Ain't that difficult really but needs a bit of fiddling! Piers

  • Brilliant :)

Im gonna have to make a tenor uke now :D

  • this is really nice. oh and your soothing voice reminds me of the guy from flight of the conchords.

    i enjoyed this! :)

  • Yeah, The one with glasses :)

    i forget his name :\

  • I think it's Jemaine Clement? Not 100% sure haha. :)

  • thats the one ;)

  • is it possible to play that on a G C E A tuned soprano ukulele? great video by the way:)

  • I'm a Uke player and a constant YouTuber. This is now my favorite Ukelele Video. Cheers!

  • Hey Thanks David ! I had a lot of fun putting it together.Piers

  • T.T i would kill to learn how to play this......

  • Yep. You're pretty damn amazing :)

  • Heh thanks for sharing daddio!!! Dang you make beautiful music.....and I love your commentary as well.... don't change a thing.... I'll check your site out...and see about getting a disk. I've been playing for a looooooong time. Two time songwriter of the year in western canada.... can I steal....Oh I promise not to......but its sweet mate

  • i love your 'commentary' :p

This is great; i might convert a little guitar i've got hanging around now!

  • Looks like you've got a really unusual collection of instruments there Mr Ediblesponge. Very best of luck to you with converting your children's guitar and let me know if you get stuck at all. Piers

  • what's the length of that guitar? and would it sound like a real tenor had you used the G C E A tuning?

  • Nut to 12th fret is 230ml. Tenor tuning is particular, same as other uke's, in that it has the octave D string. This gives it its character. All the best - Piers

  • Thats a sick uke! how much u get it for?

  • I was given it. Attics and garage sales are full of them because parents buy them for their kids who then gravitate toward consoles. Pick one up for nothing and convert it. Piers

  • how come you said that the 4th string was an A? its an F.

  • Born on a farm where the ear was more important than the intellect, maybe. Who knows who's right or what right even is. Thus spake the Ukes when massed in a banana grove. In a downpour.

  • that was pretty slick!

  • it would be so nice if you could somehow post a tutorial or some tabs to show how to play that BEAUTIFUL tune of yours...i will so buy your CD..this makes me want to cry

  • Sorry my Dolphin friend but I have never tangled with the world of Tab. But thanks for your warm hearted post :-) Piers

  • not even a video tutorial? =(

    how are your strings arranged?

    like a normal ukulele?

  • Wow, that tune was great! Release a CD and I will not only buy it, but tell everyone I know to buy it as well! It's a great sound that you put together there!

  • Glad you like it. Don't know exactly what its about - but its not really about the Uke. Has some weird atmosphere which is vaguely comforting ! Thanks for the post. Piers

  • I'm curious to know how you figured out how to space the strings properly?

  • Trial and error. A long trial and loadsa error ! But worht it. I'm getting so much pleasure out of this instrument. PP

  • Piers you never cease to amaze me, ill look for that Uke CD when you release it^^

  • :-) PP

  • hey did you write this or is it a pre written song? if so please tell me what its called.

  • I more kind of made it up than wrote it. But it is original. PP

  • His voice is super sexy

  • Awesome! Thank-you.

  • wow... it sounds like jermaine from Flight of the conchords

  • I was thinking exactly the same thing

  • Hey Guy! I really like it. There is only one problem as I see it. It needs to play about an hour longer! :)

  • Thanks Ric. Think I should make it a piece ?! I'm cooking up a uke CD in a slow and disorganised kinda way. Maybe I'll stretccchhhhh this tune a little. Piers

  • Please do and let us know when you do it.

  • This is so sweet. I love it, thank you!

  • Wonderful stuff, watch it last thing before bed helps me sleep so good. I'm just learning the Ukulele youtube is so helpful.thanks man

  • even busybees must sleep, eh ? Glad this helps bring out the shooting stars. Piers

  • hahahaha

loving the additional effects ^_^ you joker :D

  • ^_^ is new to this old fella. Whatsit mean ?!

  • It's like a smiley face, ^_^

two eyes and a mouth :P

  • aaah - nice one

  • are you jermaine from flight of the conchords?

  • Aah, now my head get big and I think I am maybe a somebody becoming.

  • its jemaine and yeah he reminds me of him kinda :D

  • tops man!!!!

  • wow, reminds me of chris rea

  • I'm flattered. What ever happened to the guy ?

  • Thank you so much Coveywood. You inspire me to be a better player.

  • I can just see the next one..."Best Slide Ukulele in the World"!

  • Not a bad idea, that.

  • What do you think will happen when I use GCEA strings on a baritone ukulele? Will it sound like a growling GCEA tenor or a tinny bari?

I have been wondering about this sleeplessly since I saw your post. Let me get some sleep, help me out Piers!

  • Just thinking about this leaves me wakefull. Maybe just try it and see what happens - then we can both get some sleep.

  • you can tune a baritone GCEA or gCEA (lowg)

  • You think so? A friend says it is folly to tune it as the length of the neck would be too much for the strings. So who is right? Have you actually tried it? I don't want to try it yet as the bari and strings are new and I don't want to get into a project that would consume too much time for an unknown outcome.

    Thanks for the feedback

Sorry Piers to use your video comment area as a forum. Why did you chose GDBba tuning? It's not common is it?

  • I've got to ask, is this an homage to Bonzo's "The Intro And The Outro"? - Adolf Hitler on vibes . . . Princess Anne on Sousaphone . . . etc - see watch?v=rF2HozqQ22I - great stuff tho. Ta for posting.

  • love it - never heard it before! I wonder, who would be on your list ? thanks for the link.

  • coo, I don't know if I could better The Bonzos! Mother Theresa on stand-up bass maybe? (BTW a wee bit of advice if you're thinking of doing a "Burp!" mark2 - give them something fizzy! - very sweet kids tho)

  • great fingerpicking riff and a fun song to boot. I think you have an ear for making beautiful music.

  • Kind of comment that makes your day

  • that was remarkable any chane you will slow down and show the finger pick pattern??thanks

  • I'll see what I can do. Its a strange one because I actually double pick one string (first with the thumb and then with the first finger to get that ripple sound. Be patient and I may get there !

  • the raspy chortle at the end made it true BLUE to me. Have enjoyed your posts immensely, your enjoyment comes through. I look forward to seeing more of the "best ... in the world" series. Thanks mate!

  • you're not an Aussie are you ?! Thanks for the post, blue.

  • Chinese Malaysian in Canada

  • I'm impressed - quite a recipe.

  • Wait, where's the wah-wah pedal? ;-)

  • Aaah, you old school you !

  • fanbloodytatstic!!! really so good, always loved the"best in the world series" Been a while since the last one but well worth the wait... do pindrop ever play away gigs? london or the south east maybe?

  • So appreciate all these comments. This Bluest clip just kind of happened, rolled itself out like a recipe - and was full of fun. Made me laugh, particularly the "shooting stars" ingredient. We don't get to the South East but if you fancy coming to Bristol you'll be made most welcome. Thanks for your generous post.

  • Never less than great from Coveywood

  • Hey thanks !

  • Cool!

  • lol i love it. and i love the deep voice =O

  • To be honest I've god a cold !
