If you're the one being attacked, or your friend is, you don't really film it so that you can watch it later, do you? Yeah that kid was lying throughout the whole damn interview. Was Ritchard bullied? I don't doubt it; he was probably bullied by the people with the camera. Does that equate him with Casey? No. I've learned, after graduation, that my bullies all admired me for my academic success, but that doesn't change my mind of them; they were still rotten people who had the chance to resist peer pressure, but they didn't.

No doubt that the big kid provoked hostility from the smaller boy and there is no way that what he did can be dismissed as self-defense. The smaller boy may have been annoying, but he didn't pose a real or legitimate threat against the larger boy and so excusing the actions of the larger boy as self-defense is quite simply out of the question.
