Wrong, your cat has nothing to do with your engine. It's your oxygen sensor that senses a bad post cat/pre cat mix that messes around with your air fuel management which then kills your engine. He either chipped the ECU or put non foulers on the O2 sensors

@MegaMassiveDong i see the service light on. on my s10 a idiot did a cat delete and the engine wasn't runing right, ran to lean and ruff idol. drank alot of gas and would surge on the road. the later on the cam shaft wore down quickly. so i plan on throwing oyt the 4.3 v6 and install a 5.3 since its all electronic.
