That's a lovely looking aeroplane you have there. i just find it odd though, it doesn't seem to fit into any definitive class. It's somewhere in between the twin engined turboprops and the single engined light planes like the skyhawk. Probably just me. What do you use it for? What kind of distances does it fly and how often? What kind of areas does it take off and land at?
@launch4 The class it's in is single engine turboprop. You could compare it to some pistons (like Mooney Acclaim or the Matrix), but the Meridian does indeed occupy a "best in its class" spot. That's why it costs so much ($2.1 million), which is way too much if you ask me, considering the mere 1000nm range. The next comparable plane would probably be the TBM-850, which sells for more than $3 million, but has a lot more range and flies a lot faster. Anyway that's my 2 cents worth.
Excellent video! I read your blog entry about purchasing the aircraft, and the power of dreams:
"Dreams are powerful things. They can define what you do in life and how much effort you put into things. I have had many dreams, now long past and I still have many dreams that I hope to see achieved one day, but on May 1st, 2009 I was able to say that one of my dreams came true."
Incredibly well put. I've got a 2007 T206 right now, but a Meridian will be mine in a few years! My dream plane.
Your aircraft sure plays a sweet tune on startup, would love the chance to fly one, though not many meridians here in the uk..............great video, well done.
At $2.1 million, I think this plane is overpriced considering that in only has a 1000 nm range. I'd probably still get one though.

Why do you start it with the prop feathered.
MrRabit1993 3 months ago
@MrRabit1993 Props automatically revert to feather when you shut down a turbo prop... as the oil pressure builds they come out of feather

They are a little over a million a piece. You can ring up quite a bill if you get a lot of the build options.
How much are the operating costs for it compared to piston? Fuel? Insurance?
Congrats on the new plane. Beauty.
