hey thanks for the video it helped alot but what do i do if when solving the 2nd layer.... say i need the blue-orange peice, so i put it in the right spot but its flipped the wrong way. what do i do?
my best is like 2:25 I have no fast hand skills yet (obviously) and still use my whole hand to turn a layer. I dont know anybody else that even knows how to solve the cube so any tips on how I can practice flipping the layers like light speed?
After your 'fish permutation' algorithm which algorithm do you use to fix the other corner pieces? I've been using 2 seperate algorithms for that last part that I was taught. You seem to be able to do it in a lto less moves.
if you got a rubik's brand cube, then the instruction booklet that came with it is a beginner book. Nothing fast, but it will tell you how to solve it.
Funny, I didn't find a book that came with it and it is a Rubik's brand cube. Maybe it's hidden somewhere in the packaging. No matter... I finished it in no time... 11 hours lol. Now it takes me about 5 mins. How do I learn to do it ultra fast?
check out pogobat's how to solve a Rubik's cube video.. I learned how to in about 20 minutes.. and had it memorized in a few hours. There are limitations on how fast you can go with that one.. But once you get it down, this should be a lot easier to understand. =)
anyway, I still think arriving at your own method of solving the cube is far more rewarding, and I've never resorted to looking up and memorizing algorithms,
Not criticizing those who do, but overly algorithmic thinking is strangling the intellect and creativity of our culture
we might as well simply hand the reigns of power over to computers
considering most people never even solve one, i'd say its enhancing our intellect. Plus, after you solve one, you obtain a deeper understanding of how the algorithms work, so eventually you don't even need algorithms. But to get back to your original point, it's still solving it with or without algorithms.
there are no new algorithms in this, and if you had taken the time to look at my page you see that i have another video almost exactly like this but a lot slower. so check that out before you go cursing in my comments
good tutorial, can anyone tell me a cube for speed cubing, i have a genuine rubik cube, but the edges keep popping out, is it my technique or is there a special speed cube which people use, if anyone can help please let me know, many thanks.
at the moment i am quite new to speed cubing, so this is all quite new, so i am new to the different to all the techniques, i am experimenting with a few. but what i am learning will really speed up my solution times.
good tutorial, but can anyone recommend a cube that does not keep popping out, since i,ve started speed cubing my edges keep popping out, it is a genuine rubik cube, but are there cubes specially designed for speed cubing, many thanks.
there really aren't special cubes, but you can get d.i.y. (do it yourself) cubes that allow you to adjust the tension yourself. The cube in this video had a lot of solves on it, and trust me, i would have a pop about every 3 solves. So its really not bad, and you still get pops on diy cubes which is what i am using now. Other than that, just sand and lube a normal rubik's cube to your liking and it should work just fine.
I assume you mean the last layer. I do two look OLL(orient last layer) and fridrich PLL(permute last layer). I haven't made a tutorial on this yet, but you can find other videos on this.
thank u

nice method! it helps me a ton! I'm "mentally slow" when it comes to f2l, but this breaks my mental block! thanks!!!

hey men can u do it really show so i can figure it out,u move liike really fast lol nun wrong with that, but can u make a video doing it slow plz.?

This is just opposite of keyhole method
Tortak39 2 years ago
I've also used this in a competition before I watched the video. So technicially it's not your own.
xXdaveXsuperstarXx 2 years ago
This is actually a variation of the key hole. Key hole is where you put in 3 corners instead of 3 edges.
xXdaveXsuperstarXx 2 years ago
where did you learn your moves from or did you make them up
nosam1998 2 years ago
interesting and ausome!!!!!!!

i love your method, thats a great technique for those first 2 layers!
I'm a little confused with the 'fish' method.
What are those algorithms??

Use finger tricks i dont know if youve heard of them before but look it up and it could help you solve it faster

whats the name of the method you use to solve the top?
how do i get the fish thing on top and what do i do from there? thanks for the help.

ok, i can solve it a different way but it takes around 5 minutes!! Lol!! im gona learn your way now, it seems much better!!
pianodemon66 3 years ago
this method is called using empty slots but in this case its intentional instead of using it as a lucky case in f2l

that makes so much sence. great tut. helped a lot

omg ur method is just amazing. Almost no new algorythms and i got some pretty fast times out of it. Thx alot man

Its easier to use the keyhole mthod that solve the 3 corners first and the use the key for the second layer you've just reverse it...Do you?
datubangkaya 3 years ago
yeah, that's why i call it reverse keyhole. It just made more sense for me to do the middle edges first. But to each his own.
bdizzle1391 3 years ago
I don't get it.. I still can't get what you mean at the "insert 3 middle pieces" the one where you "insert" >_> Slow down a lil please

if you're simply following an algorithm, you're not exactly 'solving' it, are you?
Ironzealot7531 3 years ago
actually you are. we learned in a basic psychology class that one of the most efficient methods of problem "solving" is to use an algorithm.
bdizzle1391 3 years ago
you learned that in psychology class?
that doesn't really seem germane to the course
anyway, I still think arriving at your own method of solving the cube is far more rewarding, and I've never resorted to looking up and memorizing algorithms,

This method was used before Fredrich since the 1980s.
huggums0 3 years ago
no that's keyhole, with corners, not edges, first.
bdizzle1391 3 years ago
That works supprisingly pretty dam good

Great vid...cud u explain the method you used for the last layer. Cheers

I think you should post a video on the method that you are currently using, as described in your caption

At 3:33 you should do y2,F,U,R,Ui,Ri,Fi. From your view and you would finished OLL.
CUB3FR34K 3 years ago
no that's a different algorithm. check it out on cube whiz.
bdizzle1391 3 years ago
uhhhh how do u do the fishy thing?!?!?!? it would be really helpful....
luigi65 3 years ago
First time I tried this, all the edges were in the wrong place. Like, when i turned it the way you said, it would be in reversed.
Stil is an interesting way to fill in the corners. :)

try my walkthrough video which can be found on my page.
thanks for watching.

you dont need to memorize f2l just understand it
asterisk02 3 years ago
I think that is called the keyhole method right?
Dylanarp123 3 years ago
it's not quite keyhole, it's a reverse mod i made up
bdizzle1391 3 years ago
did u remember all the 21 fridrich PLLs?I found it hard learning them...

yeah, i did...
it's not hard if you find the one's that you like, because there are multiple algs for the same pll.
