River Road two miles down from the jumps is all catch and release water...if that's your back yard, you should know that..and yes, you're right about one thing...there are some big fish in that part of the river....at dusk on streamers
I just spent 10 days up there...getting home today....and had some great fishing on Isonychia nymphs, assorted soft hackles...and streamers at dusk on River Road. Did you hear Fran Betters passed away last Sunday? Talked to his wife Jan yesterday and she said shes keeping the shop open for now...it's still for sale.
beautiful fish man! I used to fish that river alot...around the ski jumps , there is some huge trout in there. I always stayed at the hungry trout inn..its a great place
I use barbless hooks because I release the majority of the trout I catch. This hole holds many large trout some over 5lbs that I let go and the best part is that it's my backyard. So get off my back If I want fresh fish for dinner It's my choice not yours and farm raised trout sucks it has no flavor. Pull up your pink socks!
You're lucky that you have fish in you'rebackyard, You can go fishing tere =]. When I put my fish in my backyard, they always get eaten by a Crane and I never get to watc them swin =[
Au Sable River is the most beautiful river in the great lakes/ midwestern region, hands down!!!!!

I know where the no kill starts and this is before it. There is a big sign just down the road.
