  • Bloke goes into a music store: "Got any guitars going cheap?"

Assistant: "Nope. They all go, 'Twang'!"

[Yes, another GR Original. You read it first, here! . Well, perhaps you wish you hadn't, but ... ]

  • @spring74light Haha!

  • Great Playing!

  • Thanks. I tried to give the arrangement an "uplifting" feel!

  • wow.. is it on standard tuning?

  • @onzkicg Thank you for viewing, and for the query. Yes, EADGBE. I never use anything else. I find it the best starting point for developing chord voicing ideas, and for facilitating key changes, if they occur to me while playing.

  • really nice

  • @godshotbod

Thanks! This is an Inspired melody. I make attempts at a several more - P. P. Bliss, to name but a few. If I can ever afford a decent camcorder I will Post them.

  • Love it! I have a 1971 D-35S. (the best guitar I ever played). Thank you for sharing your excellent playing and a wonderful sounding Martin.

  • Thank you for your kind Comment. Much appreciated. The wider string spacing on the "S"-Type certainly facilitates tone-production. Thanks also to the Richards Duo for the fabulous melody!

May I refer you to my recommendation, below, to the work of the late Isaac Guillory? Also, a YouTube Search: "ty ford flyin" will give a fine example of expression on a D-28 S.

    Happy Playing!

  • That sounds great. Your fingers effect unfeasible stretches, quite unsettling.

  • Thank you for your kind comment. Coming from you, this is praise indeed!

I have been blessed with quite long fingers, and regard my hands as my most precious bodily assets - bar none. Regarding the left on the fingerboard, I think it is akin to training a privet hedge to grow over a garden gate. One thinks, "Now, where do I want this to go?" then, bit by bit ...

  • what year is that d 35s? Sounds great.

    I own a '74 and love it.

  • Thank you for your kind comment and enquiry. This guitar was made in 1985, and is now just about "played in"!

To hear one of these played properly on YT, search for "Isaac Guillory", typically, "Surrendel", Posted by Cloddyclips. (Isaac's was made in 1969.)

  • Pretty stuff, Geoff. And that's a fine-sounding guitar!
