I think you'll get problems like getting air into the gas lines when the gas tank isn't completely full. Beside that, i don't think anybody is going to like it having their motorcycle in such a position ;-) Motorcycles are already a very good vehicles when it comes to parking space usage, compared to cars.
As a motorcyclist myself, a few points to consider:
1. Many bikes would leak
2. The bike would fall sideways as the front wheel would turn
3. The cost to buy and install each one would make it pointless
4. The height of the average bike plus the post would take up almost as much space as the bike in the traditional way.

Would be good for push bikes, but most motorbikes would leak left right an center.
