Kuban Cossacks serve sovereign Great Russia along with every other cossack host whether they be Don, Kuban, Kalmyk etc. Not one host will ever fight for the Ukraine. The ones living in eastern Ukraine are loyal to Russia and fight for it alone. They sent miltias to fight along side Russian forces in Georgian conflict and even cossacks in the Ukraine wish to enter cossack units in Russian army. They will even fight against the Ukraine.
What the hell is ukraine? it does not exist! it never has! Stupid, they've made you believe that your brothers are your enemies.
Just open a history book, and look for the name of the first capital of the Russian Empire! Was it not Kie?? Wasn't it The Russia of Kiev? So what the Hell are you speaking about?
Your beloved politicians, that were only looking for a way to steal you effectively told you that your brother is your enemy, but he's not, it's you yourself! and your stupid brainless head
Kyiv was the capitol of Kievan Rus, not Russia. The word Russia did not even exist until Peter became Tsar and called the empire which at the time was referred to as Tsardom of Muscovy as Russia. So no it was not "The Russia of Kiev" it was Kievan Rus, learn your history, or has Putin so brainwashed your media that you cannot tell the difference?
Next thing you will be telling me is that Putin is god right
so you mean that there is no relation between Rus and Russia?? Not any??? cmon, you don't have to be a Linguist! The lexeme is the same! and now you, so an educated and well-studied person, tell me when your ukraine became first time independent?
@Enayze Dear if you're more interested in the history ... I could have known that these two states were established on the basis of precisely Kievan Rus ... and managed akin to clan Rerikovichey ... with a single ruler in Kiev and one religion .. just a lot that can be Poneman if gluttony 46-million Ukrainians and 150 Russians ... ;)
@Alik8888ua I don't know what you're trying to say, Alik. Using an online translator into English only makes for a mess. How were 'these two states' established on the basis of Kievan Rus? Write in Ukrainian or Russian: I'll understand either.
@LeComte13 Wikipedia is not an authoritative source on linguistics. The modern term Russia may have its roots in the word Rus, however you are incorrect to assert that Russia was used in old slavonic Rus. You are using reverse logic and an unreliable source to back up your claim. Simply because the names are similar has nothing to do with its historical connection. It was called Russia intentionally to link it to Rus for political reasons. As well no respected historian uses wikipedia. Nice try
Destroyed what??? there were cossacs in Russia, you know? destroyed what? Are you one of those who said that ukraine fed the whole USSR??? what happened with that when ukraine got separated? Well, you know, at last, the great ukraine... is now submerged in shit... well since the very day of its independence which was the start point of its final decadence... And then all you say i've been brainwashed? Take a look on yourselves
@LeComte13 Id rather have Ukraine struggling but independent from dictatorship rule like Russia is under Putin. Democracy was evident in Kievan Rus and its evident in Ukraine, democracy however was not evident in Russia nor is it now. We have holes to patch up but its better to start new than to remain under someone elses lordship
Russians destroy, huh? Well, nice, look here, you read the most famous and admired ucranian poet, know who i'm talking about, dont you ...
Yes T. Shevchenko. Get a "Kobzar' " and read both poems callen in Ukranian "Son" (Dream).
In the longer one you'll find "let us get the jewish drowned in russian blood" ... Yeeaah! a nice idol... but, how much we admire him, cause he told russians were stupid and ukranians were the highest nation of the planet, unique!
@LeComte13 Taras Shevchenko was oppressed, but he was a literary genius. Ukrainians do not want a rift between them and Russians. Are relations are perfectly fine its you guys who seem to hate us.
Who was that guy and why he was killed ???

@LeComte13 There is a connection, but Russia did not become RUSSIA until 1703 with Peter the great, prior to that it was known as Muscovy.
Ukraine btw first became independent in 1648, then again in 1918.

Now, if you WERE linguist or etymologyst, etc (or even historian) you would know about this little fact:
" (Old East Slavic Рѹ́сь IPA: [rusĭ], Greek: Ρωσία, Latin: Russia, Ruthenia, Belarusian: Кіеўская Русь, Russian: Ки́евская Русь, romanised: Kievskaya Rus, IPA: [rusʲ], Ukrainian: Ки́ївська Русь)"
It's a copy+paste from wikipedia. What happens now??? Holy Shit! Russia appears to be the Latin for Old Slavonic Rus'?? Wow, impressive isn't it?
