@COLOMBIAweedGSE This was written after a failed romance, at the time England were playing Colombia in a friendly (I think). Comparisons are drawn with Colombia from the woman's point of view ("And now I know how those Colombians feel"), in other words, feeling low and there's no way back ;-)

she was on holiday in Cancun with her 2 teenage boys for Christmas 2000. They went scuba diving off the island of Cozumel and was in a scuba-only zone. As she was resurfacing from a dive, she saw a speedboat heading towards her son and swam towards him to save his life which she did but it cost her her own. She was hit and died instantly.

Its not about a Columbian man. In the song she goes on a date to a bar where the England v Columbia match is on tv. she found out the man was married with kids. She says she knows how the Columbian feels i.e loser
