Very helpful video especially after the trashing my board just took in the alps! Just wondering does p-tex melt under a hot iron? So could you apply p-tex with a really hot iron and do you have to be careful when you're ironing in wax after repairs?
Wish I would have watched this vid first got black stuff in my board thanks to sports chalet guy not telling me how to do it right. Now I know the blue flame good vid thanks.
i got a core shot on my board (2nd time riding it) and the cut goes down slightly deeper until the core shows, then theres kind of a line in my base, which I'm not sure the depth of the cut, should I just take a razor and make it a bit wider to see the depth?
what you dont note in this is how Ptex makes you want to puke after being in the backroom of a ski shop tuning all day haha. good ventilation is highly recommended if youre doing a ton of tunes throughout the day.
@chadrichards5 i'd imagine that it lasts as long as you take care of your board. i.e- wax your board well enough and make sure it doest get to dry..... Also avoiding rocks usually helps. haha
What type of ptex are you using man? I have never had mine turn yellow like that before...

do you have to wax your board after repairs?

@smiley0970 you need to scrap any wax off the area before you start your repair, so yes you do need to re wax

Great video. Just fixed a few gouges in my board from last season. With a fresh wax, it looks like a new board again.
