@kk9man Bitch all you want, hater~ Still got 4 championships in the record books and nothing will ever change that. So if you hate NASCAR so much, and NASCAR is soooooo~ corrupt. Then, uh... you know... Quit. Fucking. Watching. Is that too hard to comprehend? Hm?
@timduncan21spursfan Well guess what? He's NOT! And guess what, again!? Johnson IS! By the way, I"ll take those two words as your way of congratulating us 48 fans on win number 53~ And don't worry, don't fret. That win isn't going anywhere. You'll be able to look it up in the history books along with all his other wins when people talk about the greatest drivers of all time. And again, bitch all you want. But he will go down in HISTORY as one of the BEST ever. So cheers to you, mate.
@weaverracing96 Whatever. However, before his championship years, I liked him a little bit. What you don't understand is that in US Sports, the same team/driver winning every year gets SO boring. But just wait. In the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season, he WILL have a bad year and a winless season - just like Jeff in '08. You'll see. DISCUSSION CLOSED.
@timduncan21spursfan It's only boring if you don't like him. Us 48 fans are having a blast. And it's sad that you haters have already given up hope on him losing 2010 and are already running your mouth about his demise in 2011. Still, doesn't change a thing. He's one of the best in the world when it comes to racing, and history will remember him as such.
@weaverracing96 If jimme could win 5 championships in a row under the old point system great good for him then he would be a true champion. If it were the old point system he would be a two time champion and a good driver. Also it isnt fair for the points leader at the chase mark to be stripped of his lead and jimme would not have won in 2010 he was on the vege of falling out so jimme is a chase champion not a true champion.
@Civiprotection Wahwahwah the chase isn't fair! Of course it's fair you moron! It's not like the 48 is the only team that knows that the points reset after 26 races. Every person in the garage knows how it works. Everyone. When they show up in Feb. for speedweeks in 2011, they will know that in 30 weeks, the points will reset. the 48 knows it, the 29 knows it, and the 11 knows it.
@weaverracing96 you wouldnt be saying that if the 48 lost the points lead 5 years in a row and lost the championship. True Nascar fans like the old 36 points race system. Thats the real way to race the champion should not be determined by the final 10 race playoff it should be how you perform throughout the whole season. I will give it to the 48 he knows how to use that point system to his advantage and i respect him for that but lets go back to the old system and see what he can do.
@Civiprotection 48 lost it in 2004 by 7 points and I had no problem with it. Nobody criticizes football for having playoffs, the Patriots went undefeated to the superbowl and lost to NY, same with the World Series in baseball.
@weaverracing96 Im saying that if he were the points leader going into the chase for the past 5 years he has won and lost it because of the chase then your opinion might be a little different also this isnt Football or the World Series. The points system they had was what they had for 30 years and no one complained. They also say the chase was to bring in ratings and if you look all nascar has done is go down i still watch it but nascar racing is not what it used to be.
@weaverracing96 Also think about it you build up a 200-300 point lead all for nothing its get taken away from you whats the point in having 26 races if it's going to be stripped away. If it's going to be like that why not just have the whole series 10 races if thats all that counts.
I was there sitting in off turn 2 i heard the impact clear as day and was like what the hell. Jimmie should of backed out and passed burton into turn 3. Im a gordon fan but johnson was wrong there. Burton ran the same line for about 50 laps with jimmie behind him and he just ran him over.
@coldv1 see, you're too stupid to even explain your thoughts. and yes i am a nerd, and i'm not afraid to say it. simply because it means the i have an intelligance level higher than that of the average catipiler, unlike you.
@dirtkart73 I cannot believe that nascar cant realize that the chase is completely unfair. totally agree with JoeCamel, jimmie should have 1 and jeff should have 6.
burton is the cleanest driver. If not for the improved safety devices, Kurt BUsch may not have made it through this crash. He hit burton head on and than hit the wall head on driver side.
We were at this race. We were sitting in Turn 3 right by the tunnel entrance. You could literally feel this impact. It was such a hard hit...glad they both were okay. After that wreck, Harvick came on the radio and asked how many cars Rick Hendrick had in the field because he was taking all of them out. LOL then Harvick ended up winning the race!
We would be my girlfriend, cousin and I. Actually the Sunday morning newspaper had a picture of us along with a small article. We were all college students at the time who took a weekend to come down form WI to visit Bristol and see the race. There was a picture of us sitting in the stands waiting out the rain on Saturday for the BGN race. The reporter did an article about how dedicated we were to sit out in the rain all day.
I had a girl in my class my sophomore year, she died from an accident simmilar to that, and her vehicle was a huge Avalanche, those to are very lucky to be alive
Well why did Jeff Burton suddenly drift up the track (which appeared like he was nicely letting the 48 go by him)but when they are exiting the turn he suddenly goes back down....unless his car was really tight. But thats just racing at Bristol lol
This crash looks very similar to Dale Jr's 2004 Atlanta crash.

Burton is the best driver in Nascar. I know everyone is gunna say Kyle Busch, but Burton NEVER wrecks nobody, and most of all he is a clean racer.
