All the videos on youtube show a 3 loop monkey fist. The actual # of rounds you will need to make depends on the size of the center object and the diameter of your rope. Be aware of this when making a monkey fist. FOR EXAMPLE: using standard paracord with a 1" steel ball requires FIVE rounds to completely cover the sphere inside. The extra rounds significantly increase the complexity of the tie and the time to tighten; patience is a virtue with that.

I was told that the Monkey's Fist is illegal in some places because it can be used as a weapon. Aparently some people would put a large rock or smallish cannonball into it and wail on people with it.

The knot was constructed well however the commentary was lacking. Also, adding a weight to the middle of the knot is illegal for Naval heaving line competitions. I would not recommend placing the weight into the centre. Other than that, well done.
