1:20 Landings - Right Front Roll: smashed elbow thats one minor on the P.O. check.
2:38 Complete Malfunction Drill: He didn't hit the side the his reserve. Fail.
6:10 Aircraft Drill: (this is actually rather funny) First jumper of the stick begins to stand up on the command 'Get Ready' (stomp on the ground with your inboard arm on the knee, eyes on the JM).
In the eyes of a Civilian this is quite a good video.
Its informative, well rounded, and shows the basics.
@stjimmy3916 if you wanna do this take your 2 years and train for it the course is very challenging both mentally and physically and these JM's are only being nice for the camera if you do get to jump school youll find out just how badass PI's are lol Airborne
I wouldn't go as far to say they were special forces. all was required was a basic para course. There was no selection involved (unlike csor today). They were a very robusk unit and rapid deployable. And they were disbanded because of crooked faced jean chretian and the fucking cock-sucking liberals.
@Alexplus20. yes, all infantryman has the chance to earn their wings. But a Para Coy wears the Maroon Beret. there is also your "red" wings and your "white" wings.
@fightingBRITISH the Canadian Airborne was disbanded in the 90's. Now each regiment has it's own jump-designated companies who work alongside the other companies in the battalion. the Special Operations unit (CSOR) is the new equivalent to the airborne regiment.
@fightingBRITISH What you heard of was probably thinking of was the Canadian Airborne Regiment which yes, was disbanded, after being 'disgraced' in Somalia way back in the 90's I believe. They were accused of some things during a mission, and were disbanded, probably more political than anything. We still have airborne battalions but no specific 'regiment'. Right now the RCR, 3rd batt, and a batt from the PPCLI out west have 'airborne' battalions. PPCLI out west and RCR in petawawa
@hewittdj1 This is of interest to me because there is no listing for any kind of airborne regiment and I think it's something I would want to do if I joined the CF
@hewittdj1 I believe it was in '94. And the 'incident' was in my understanding two individuals that killed a hostage during interrogation. You are also right however in saying it was a political thing. The Prime Minister at the time only lasted 4 months, and it was because of massive budget cuts in the Canadian Forces. That incident was what brought the CAR to the spotlight in my belief.
@fightingBRITISH Also, the old Canadian Aribrone Regiment was also more of a 'special forces' group then an airborne regiment. At the time they were our 'special forces/rapid deployment' unit. now we have JTF-2 aswell as CSOR, Canadian Special Operations Regiment
@fightingBRITISH It's true what "hewittdj1" has said, also our special forces are considered our airborne regiments. Just as they were before Somalia (Joint Tast Force - which is why it has now been brought back as Joint Task Force 2) Support Our Troops !
@BCoy2Pacman The lowest altitude admissible under emergency conditions is 400ft for us Canadians, which is freaking me out just thinking about it... The lowest I jumped was 800 ft and that was low enough lol
@britishfetishman101 No problem, I had it on youtube before but my account was deleted by youtube, if you like this i have more stuff i will be uploading, rate and subscribe if you want. Good luck with your career in the CF.

"months of training"? Yet, in the army cadet program, it's a few weeks long. then again, I suppose that's just basic.
I have three years to go, and I might be doing exactly this. Living the dream, I hope.

Cont. But to someone who just got off his Basic Jump Course you can easily see the mistakes they're making.
And by the way at the end the aircraft drill commands are all over the place. I mean they called stand up before get ready for goodness sakes!
