Thanks a lot for the tutorials, I'm trying to get into modelling, if I could just make tiny suggestions, to have some sort of list of what you go through in each video, and also to try dodging silly comments like "its not a square its a cube!", although that made me laugh and its nice in a big tutorial to laugh once in a while. ;)

For God's sake, in all this videos i learned how to use my mouse. "Go to top view, now add a cube, good, now go to side wiew, to see it's side, good, now as you can see you can add a cilinder, and let me show you that we can see it's left side too, good, now go down, to see al the objects i added until now. Good, if you press right mouse buton, you can see that a menu appears. Ok, now let's see that we can add another object, just like this." God! I want to know how to animate!

@bboyism20 Its because people want to learn to walk before they can run. If they want to animate they should look up more advanced tutorials. It may be "easy" to them, but to beginners it isn't. People need to stop complaining these are actually pretty good for people who don't know ANYTHING about 3D modeling with Blender.

hey dude i just saw ur comment in the blender tutorial and if you dont have an answers about blender on Mac you can find 3 wikibooks in wikipedia (pdf format) where they tell u how o use blender n show you the both ways pc and mac they r not as good as this kid but they have all shorcuts for macs and pcs. just google wikipedia blender book tutorial and there u ll have it hope i help

Tab alternates between Object and Edit modes. You can select different objects with the right mouse button, while in Objects mode.

And the Wikibooks are definitely a good source for Mac shortcuts. ;)

I'm not sure if this is what you were trying to do:

Select the Object (the camera in this case)

Press the right mouse button, while moving the mouse. OR: Hold left mouse button and move the mouse cursor in any direction untilthe cursor begins drawing a fine line behind it and then release the left mouse button. You should now be able to move the camera around freely.

Blender isn't very hard to use. The GUI is just unique so it looks harder than it is. If you just follow tutorials, it's really no problem and can be learned pretty fast. One of the easiest to learn ones out there.

Check out the Nob to Pro Wikibook on it. It's what I used to learn Blender basics.

If your really having a hard time though, there is always Anim8or, which is a very basic program for beginners ;)

max is the best. I am very fast in max now, have been doing 3d max for almost 10 years now, learned it in school. Blender is new for me. its kinda like maya, Its great for me to learn a new 3d app. and this blender is just what I needed, its not a bad program now that I am learning it

I've run into glitches before with 3DMax, sorry to say. And I also use it in school.

However, Blender uses it's own GUI, where as Max uses a basic Windows interface. Blender is significantly different than Max in that the hotkeys and location of things are very different. Hence, if you get used to using Blender for years, as I did, then suddenly try switching to Max, it can be very confusing and hard to get used to at first.
