hey hi can you give me some tips i was on another swimming club that im now and there the coach never said to do the 2 side brething so now i do only right brething how can i train the left any ideas cause when i do the left breath i loose it so any tips
thank you so much for posting this. I was severly wounded in Iraq last year, and I was immobile for months. I am doing great now and have use of my lower body again, but it hurts to run long distance. So I was looking for somthing else. When one of my docs who is a trialethlet recommended swimming. however my technique was never any good so I'm glad that there are resources like this to help me not embarrass my self at the pool.
Wow coachgino I'm so happy to have stumbled on this. I was getting quite into running and circuit training until I got shin splints and that is now on the back burner. Got frustrated a while back with the lack of opportunities to improve swimming; the internet is a bit jargon strewn and technical in its tips but this is about the best piece of advice ive had yet. Really appreciate this video and when I try out this advice in the pool i'll be back on for more. Cheers!
Is she not over-reaching? I thought you should put your hand in in line with your shoulder - and not beyond this point... I've paid attention to this myself in the water, found it anchors roll - also strengthens pull.
She tends to over reach. The reach is between the outside of your shoulder and the side of your head. This is one of many form breaks that this student is working to improve.
Great job with video and instructions - the roll and breathing are key since some instructors just say turn and breathe without explaining that one should turn their bodies also...awesome job!!!
You are correct i made this video for the swimmer so she can see her mistakes. At the end of the video is a workout to help correct her break in style.
hmmm, this is not very good. coach, you should have done the video instead. I am not sure I want to visualize this swimmer when I swim.

This is an adult student still learning.
Good eye. Still room for improvement.

Great question...start off simple, use a kick board and practice rotating to your least favorite side.Gradually start to time this with arm movements.
Remember rotate hips then move arms.
Let me know if this works for you.

how to breath out either used mouth or nose?
shamnhp 4 years ago
Whatever is easier for you...If you are getting water in the nose i would use my nose. If this is not a problem then i would use my mouth.
