Why is it that, with a cover, so many people are like "nice try, but nothing can beat the original"? Does it not occur to you that making a "better" version might not be the goal of the artist doing the cover? A lot of times, it's simply a show of respect to the original artist and the band is playing a song they love. Other times, an artist might hope to make it big by covering a classic song, but even they most likely don't expect it to be BETTER. Anyway, great song, great cover, period.

I agree. Phil's version had suspense/drama in its buildup to the chorus.

While Nonpoint's doesn't have that, it's a great cover because it doesn't allow itself to be restricted by the original.

Far too many covers either try to faithfully recreate the original, thus sounding like a note-for-note copy without much individuality. Or they try so hard to be different they miss the mark entirely. Thankfully, Nonpoint seemingly made this of their own volition. Often bands are forced to do a cover.

see thats just a matter of opinion i grew up on phil collins (my folks are big fans of hsi) but i think this is better but then again i tend to listen to more hard rock and heavy metal stuff so this is better in my opinion.

There is no better version. Its preference. Phill was the creator. There is no arguing that. Personally I like this version. Its got more oomph, better instrumentals. He sounds less bored than Phill. Though Phills version had the best sounding drums and stuff.
