I've been looking over footage of the Death Star explosion and I know this sounds stupid, but it looks to me like a controlled demolition. There's no way a single x-wing fighter could've caused that kind of explosion. The thing went up like it was full of explosives. Look at the footage, the Death Star blows up AFTER Skywalker gets away. And then he disappears to a cave in Hoth somewhere and Palpatine can't find him? This is the fucking empire we're talking about, against some crazy Jedi fanati

i like how for the re-release, they added the Praxis shockwave from Star Trek VI: the Undiscovered Country to the Death Star explosion, they just put it on its side!
