  • 'It's like a folk song about ''Lovvie's and Phoney's''.

V camp = quite 'quietly' brilliant = me love 'Dah-Ling'

  • I would ride this ong if it were a horse and frost it if it were a cake.

  • anybody who doesn't like this song has rocks in their head!

  • This song IS DEFINATELY GENIUS. The subject matter is so relateable. constantlly wasting time, talking and gossiping about relationships that have nothing to do with you, when the night will Kill you if you can't be with someone you love

  • first time i ever heard this album was on an 8 track. mum bought it for dad's birthday one year....loved it every since!!

  • My dad and my brother hate this song, and I don't get why. This isn't genius, but it's delightful to say the least.

  • This is the musical equivalent of Jacqueline Susann and friends 'doing lunch'! Sheer genius!

  • A great little funny duet between reed and bowie

  • Cool song!

  • Cool song!

  • definetly his best album

  • I bought Berlin on the back of this album and when I heard the baby cryin it upset me and I have not played it since

  • this song kinda reminds me of bike from the pink floyd album relics

  • @WhiteTieUdie Bike was on The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn originally

  • @WhiteTieUdie If you like that song, you should check out a cover of it by a Japanese group called P-Model; their music might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I can imagine most Pink Floyd fans being into strange new things, yeah?

  • @people voting up molkoxlewd, killerkarpfen90 said "lp" and "album" not "song" and i have to agree with killer that Transformer is the best Lou Reed album and it's definately in my top 5 favorite albums to listen too

  • Brilliant in it's simplicity! Not as serious as some of the rest of Transformer! But still, an integril part of the album, without this track, Transformer isn't Transformer.

  • kicken

  • "oooooow my, and what should we wear'HAHAHAH AWSOME

  • Lou Reed has a great sense of humor. Transformer is as genius as it is humoristic.

  • @vulvasonic i hate it when people so liberally use the term 'genius' to describe people in showbusiness...this is not 'genius'

  • @Shermanicus : It is genius in the world of showbusiness. :-)

  • @vulvasonic yeah but that's not an objective or generalised measure of genius

  • @Shermanicus : It never is. If there would be a measurable scale of genius, I would be one myself.

  • ...

  • day was breaking, the rain had ceased, and the clouds were dispersing. It felt damp and cold, especially in clothes that were still moist.

  • the important thing is to make good and catchy music, not to make music thats hard written :P

  • I'd like to think that is Maureen Tucker on backup vocals. But I'm probably wrong in that.

  • it's david bowie

  • I thought that was David,I'd recognize his voice anywhere! :)

  • He is the best!! :))

  • Yay Lou Reed is still rocking out of this world.hell yeah,I need to see him in a concert, because I can't get enough of him.Now that's what I call a true rocker. He just sings so well from the heart.Man what a legend!

  • It's funny how his voice is still very low, good post, but this song is pretty shitty, but catchy.

  • this is 38 years old and still genious try to write one like it i bet you cant

  • Alright I'm not trying to knock Lou here, so every typical internet person don't jump all over me, but if you think this is "genius" you are a biased fan who has no taste in music.

  • I agree. This is not genius particularly. This is a fun song. Perfect Day, Walk on the Wild Side, those are genius.

  • @gibsondrummer

am I to be offended by that?

  • Sounds like a musical song.A good musical song.

  • Was thinking about Andy while listening to this, sounds like the song is about him

  • I totally agree.

  • i love lou reed. he is sexy in a sort of strung out kind of way.

  • good

  • Been a trip since day 1 that I heard it,, about '78 or so.. insanity!!!

  • Bowie doing backing vocals?

  • Correct. Bowie backed alot of Transformer tracks. He produced it between making Ziggy and Aladdin Sane.

  • @HereForBarbara Yep! That is indeed the Thin White EMPEROR (higher than a duke or even a king)

  • damn if it happens every night!

  • this lp is so genius...the best lou reed album i think

  • agreed es1

  • yes, agreed.

  • @killerkarpfen90 agree wholeheartitly jakki

  • very calming song unlike most new songs nowadays, lol

  • who is on the other end talking?

  • To all the You Tube Drama/guilds drama, they should listen to that song more often!
