  • This is what Walgreens does too!

  • Soviet Union = Dictatorship of the State ( State Capitalism ). Dictatorship of the Proletariat never existed. Again, the missing element(s) of this video are the owner(s),managers and others versus the minimum wage workers. Marx meant that the owners are able to enjoy their life because of the revenue made but the low level workers are not able to do this because they have to use their limited earned wages on basic living. Answer: State redistributes the revenue through income tax system.

  • "Marx calculates that the total required for subsistence is about 6 six hours of labor aday. But...to earn their wage they must work another six hours, thus providing the 'surplus labor' that creates profit. 'There is not one single atom of [surplus] value that does not owe its existence to unpaid labor... [the worker] is deskilled,...and his ability to defend his position dimishes.

  • fucken mcdonalds the biggest legal child abusers in the world.they use and abuse children and the corp should hang its head in shame.i dont know how share holders in this company can sleep at night.fuck mac donalds and the disgusting shit they call food.they outlaw tobacco. this shit should also receive similar treatment.

  • I gotta tell you, hearing people complain about a "no-skills-required" job isn't very convincing! .... sounded like teenagers complaining about being a kid (not being able to have a nice car, listen to their favorite music when they want to, and hating chores). Why not go get a job from one of those great company's run by a communist? Our economy is already on the brink thanks to a government manipulated monetary system and it's full involvement in almost every aspect of life. Need more?

  • @Surkhalam, I agree with you. The main argument of Karl Marx is really about the seperation(alienation) of the hired worker to the "surplus" capital. As for "moral capitalists" it is an attempt to compromise with the system(capitalism) rather than the total uproot of it. The existence of money and SCARCITY because of the lack of HIGH technology creates the impetus for capitalism.

  • The military does this. Should we shut down the military or the state? When the leaders decide to remove obstacles to true peace and reduce conflicts then there would be no need for the military. This is only possible through the intro of new technology. If this technology removes the factors then when people evolve and intro new tech eventually no fast food restuarant no longer needed.

  • @cris750 I'm afraid I don't fully understand your comment. Do you mean to say that the military alienates their workers, that once the world obtains world peace there will no longer be a need for fast food restaurants, or something else entirely?

  • @Christa4ever Karl Marx's alienation theory is summarized as a Social system which creates unhealthy habits. Karl Marx observation was done during a time when the Industrial revolution was at a young stage. He did not know that things would evolve when it would be possible to have MORAL CAPITALISTS within the capitalism system. The McDonald's example is not entirely explaining capitalism and one of its effects - alienation. It is rather about education and involvement in the political process.

  • @cris750 If I understand you correctly, the author of the video is only using McDonalds as an example of a systemic problem that is inherent in capitalism. There are many ways to organize the workplace, as well as, structure the military or social life in general....the way in which social life is currently organized needs to be changed. Society is not static, we can change it ya k now...;)

  • @SpectacleofDebord Karl Marx's theory is about Social system which creates unhealthy habits. Or the Social Infrastructure versus the Superstructure. The "alienation" is really about the lack of political and social and economic input by the workers! whether towards the corporate entity they work for or the political process to change the superstructure which effects their total environment. This what Karl Marx meant by "alienation", it is the lack of access by workers to express themselves.

  • Thank you for posting this! This is awesome, you guys rock, I'm posting this everywhere I can! Thanks!
