I'm a drummer in real life with 4 years experience under my belt, I've played real gigs with over 300 people attending! I play guitar and all I can say is that it's pretty different from playing Guitar Hero.

The drums will be different too I guess so I don't think real life training would help you a lot.

But playing drums is fun so do it anyways! ;P
