I'm disappointed that aye/eye/I didn't make it. It's okay, because every teacher where we discussed homonyms forgot those ones... or at least left out "aye". Silly teachers. (My brother and his wife are both in teacher-training. I can't wait to find mistakes in their lessons.)

Hey! I found out about you from MLIA! =D I'm a singer and the reason why pear is so hard is because you use a lot of breath to get out the "P" sound, and you have to get it out three times, plus singing the phrase before. Dont know if that answers your question, but hey, worth a shot!
