@sunderlandgrl I think though they said in one of the TV Spots that Nicholas Sparks didn't write it originally for her, but the picture of Ronnie he had in his mind as he was writing was similar to what Miley LOOKS like. He didn't think of her playing the lead in a movie of it though. He wrote the book and didn't write a movie script. His novels are made into movie adaptations when other people like them, he didn't have any part in making this movie other than that it was based on his story.
