You don't even need to blow on it. If there's liquid in the can, the motion of the liquid in the container provides enough inertial transfer to cause it to glide. I remember having this happen at a restaurant with a smooth table, and a glass of ice-water with just enough condensation under it. The glass was able to glide about 18 inches. It can be quite spooky when it happens.

Epic fail. Water on counter with empty can slammed down causes air to trap underneath and simply blowing on it will cause it to move. Simple science project. Nice try though.

Its easy to do wet the counter put hot water in the can to half full then when you go to put can down make sure you have forward motion before you place it and it will move as if on own but it was forwardmotion that does it I just tried it

the can has liquid on the bottom, and when the coke on the inside moves, the force moves the can along the liquid on the table, therefore making it slide along the table.. I've done it.. Pretty cool shit..

I know an EASY way to do that:

Put metal/magnet in a can.

Hide under table that can is on

Take another magnet and drag it around on the under surface of the table.

Make sure the table is sort of thin!

Ok there are 1 of 2 ways to explain this:

Way 1: The counter is wet in the first few screen shots.

Way 2 (most probable): there is a magnet tape to the under side of the counter and there is a metal plate underneath the can which is causing the can to move cuz of magnetism.

Actyually, and I make no illusions about this because I was not at home during this, my best guess is the right amount of dampness on the counter and fluid in the can. THough that was the only time it has occured here in 21 years. No magnets or strings, either physics or ghosts, you decide.

I've seen this happen before myself...

Moisture on the bottom of the can traps air in the convex bottom and it acts like a sort of hover craft. Add to that a slightly off level counter top and presto...

I think he took the camera away too quick when the can moved the first time. it moved back like there was a film of water but counter looked dry. but if you watch closley the can starts to move very slightly to the left just as he zooms back.I had ti watch it over several times to really see it.

I was gone that night photographing a wedding, but Im glad they got the camera out and used it. To me the counter looks damp and by the sound of the can hitting the counter Im sure its empty. Now I have tried to recreate this many times but failed, so who knows. We live behind a farm house built in 1892 that is very haunted and deserted, see Pjphoto1 com in the Ghostly image section and look at the two infra-red images caught on video.

Thanks for letting me know that, there is a vidio someone did in a trip to england , of cups moving on a counter top, they left the camera sitting on the counter and left, astonishng film. quite frightening , its called , 100% Genuine Poltergeist Footage , really interesting.

No there's no magnets but this stuff happens from time to time. It's really cool when it happens the first few times but I've had it happen to me a couple of times. Oddly enough, the times I remember it happening, the bottom of the can or counter surface was wet, so it would slide because some surfaces have a greater decline than others.

Think what you will, but there were no magnets. The magnets would need to be very large to get through the thickness of my countertops. And you can here the sound of the can, Empty, when placed on the countertop. If a large magnet was in the can the sound would be much different. Again, physics. Or maybe just a ghost!
