  • pretty cool Lew!

  • Yeah, it is a turkish saz, its frets is placed based on C major scale, and its the tuning of greek 3 strings bouzouki, one tune lower.

Your approach to the instrument its really nice and unique.

  • That instrument is called a "Saz". It comes from Turkey. Nice playing.

  • the sound of the melody is quite vague as it doesnt stand out against the rythm; I must say it does take some talent to play and sing and I like the song

  • That's a really nice sounding instrument.

  • fantastic!

  • Two of youtube's most knowledgable folksters getting together! Oh what I'd give to be a fly on that wall! Wow! That is too cool, make sure both of your cameras are shined up! (Yes, that is a baglama saz - Wish I had one!)

  • I love the sound of that. Kind of reminds me of what the song would sound like played on a sitar.

Also: looking forward to the inevitable jam sessions that'll arise from Raymond's visit.

  • Sounds good. Puts a smile on my face. John hope you have a great visit with Ray and his wife. ...Bill

  • That right there is a Turkish saz (also called bağlama). I have played those many times and they are quite enjoyable instruments. Cool playing!

  • Wonderful.

  • Hello

    Lew...

That is one exotic-looking specimen of an instrument (I haven't a clue as to its name)...however,"Old Joe Clark" seems to be well-accustomed to it!

    Pax,

    Max
