Wow this piece is just sublime. I can't help but think of jellyfish and how fragile they are when I see this. I was wondering if the circular hollow underneath the main body of work is also an intentionally constructed part of the final work? Either way, this sculpture is nothing short of beautiful. I'm looking forward to seeing more like this in the future. (Now I just have to find a way to see one in person!)

Why is the artistic community at odds? Have we learned nothing from the works of Picasso, Monet, O'Keefe, Dahli, Michaelangelo, Da Vinci? What does it matter what the onlooker or beholder sees with in a work. A work is ment to dredge up feeling, much like a fishing net, catching its fish. One can never know what is caught untill the net is displayed for all to see. Don't be negative because a common fish is caught with an exotic. All are wonders to behold.

Actually I've read the information, yes I believe this is beautiful. I don't know why!! The way it moves in the sky, maybe it will catch some dust and debris over time, showing the changes in the air quality. I think it would be cool if it changed colour too over time. Why is it round? It doesn't change shape much. The color is not bright, not shiny, it does not glimmer ...

It cannot compete with the blue sky, slow moving white puffy clouds, the many colors of a sunset, nor does it compete with the wind through trees nor the flowing waves of tall grasses in a wind blown field.

Perhaps even a fisherman's netting is more beautiful. (Ouch).

The money spent on public art in general is tiny! Especially compared to say the gazillion of shopping centers and malls?... To me this is not a waste. Just to point out that the cost of this project is not only plastic and net, it is also the giant pole (undoubtedly steel) and cables for mounting, as well as the installation labor and equipment costs.
