  • try a master on social scienes.. easy kind of type

  • The german school system seem quite retarded as it sounds like you've noticed. A german friend of mine tells me that if you haven't completed an education like within two years after it ended, you have to take all cources from scratch. that is fucked up ;P he also says that if ur like a late bloomer in middle school and things like that, you just get kind of marked as retarded for life. That's so sad.

  • So that mind-clearing hand thingy? CRAZY hard!!!

  • 2) if it's specifically those places you want to get into go there and make an appointment with the person who judges the exams or an advisor like a professor maybe. Get some advice on what you can make better and get more details on what exactly you need to be taken. Then take the year and work towards it but don't just give up... I know you can do it! And if that doesn't work or schools don't offer the exact diploma you're looking for try a Fernstudium. You can do most of it online

  • @Annaconda1984 you just have to show up to the exams... IRL

  • keep applying if you want something so much don't give up because you got two rejections... Ok first of all go to the local university and talk to a "Studentenberatung" member. Most of them are extremely helpful and they will give you many many different options as to how to proceed. They tend to be extremely busy even during opening times so make an appointment ahead of time so you can get as much information about it as possible.

  • "..because, you know, living in Germany-you have to speak German." Wha? Whoa! is it really true? Those darn Germans! Always making things so difficult for us foreigners! Hahah! Good luck Dinzla! And yes, I agree, you are VERY LIKELY to succeed! Brian : )

  • I really like this vlog! What I don't like is this rejection thing =( too bad.

And the trick is *puh* ... mh... too complicated for me obviously.

    MINUS L ftw!!!

  • the move has been good for you my love! you're so lively :D and for some reason i think you speak really clearly now... uh not that you didn't before... ACCENT CHANGE!!! uh this is why i avoid commenting. iloveyouokbye <3

  • oh and you look fine, fresh, fierce.

  • @BenRobot :D I'm lively because I'm happy ^___^

and I think I speak more clearly now too! I mean now I've been speaking English every day for over a year, which I totally didn't do in Iceland.

I love your comments, please don't ever stop.

    iloveyoutoookbye <3

  • Hoffentlich, Es gehts besser nächste Jahr für mich. Ich werde ein Studentbewerber Visum suchen. (Hopefully it goes better for me next year. I will be applying for a students visa.) You don't have to worry about a visa do you?

  • @richfranz84 Nope, Even though Iceland isn't in the EU, iit's in the EEA (European Economic Area) which pretty much gives me the same rights as any other EU citizen has.

Which means I can stay here and work as I want. :)

  • @richfranz84 OMG, it would be awesome if that worked out and you moved to Germany! (c:

  • Bummer, but hey you can always just start vlogging "professionally" again :) Hope the German studies are going well. I'm horrible at learning languages so I have no advice on that matter, or any idea how you guys manage to pull it off... #stupidamericanonlyspeaksenglish, yunpocoespañol(muymuymalo)

  • @jp3d2k The thought has occurred to me, I do want to make stuff more regularly, but knowing me, I can't promise anything.

About the language thing... it's amazing what you can do if you feel motivated enough. Or even like in my case, if you're living in a country where almost no one can speak English and everything is in German, you start picking things up almost without trying. :)

(Una blanca bicycletta <- One of the very few things I know in Spanish) ;)

  • Glad to see ya my friend... outside of the school challenge, I hope you're enjoying your adventures in Germany. Cheers... J.

  • @nbwulf Nice too see too Jason! I am totally enjoying the experience. :)

  • Come to Ireland! UCD's getting a shiny new science building and you already know English! Win win situation.

  • @Implosiony Hehe, I'd LOVE to live and learn in Ireland, but I do love it here in Germany too. It's a challenge, but I like it.

  • which game did u play?

  • @Photoshoplilli "Fantastic Farm" ....I love farm games, but not Farmville for some reason.

  • Yay for old school vlogs! :) That hand thingy is tricky..I can do it fast on one hand at a time but when I try to alternate them I get all mixed up hehe ^^

  • @TheRavenOfPoe It looks so easy, but it's totally not! Hehe :D

  • Sucks not getting in. All I can say is look at it as an opportunity to...look deep inside your soul...nah, screw that, these people have their own agenda and it has nothing, nothing, to do do with your talents. Really. Ten people get in = ten people with_an_in.

Apply again and then pound them like they've never been pounded before. Good luck.

  • @elvispelt Hehehe, thanks for the confidence. :)

  • Gesundheit, thats as far as my german goes.

  • why not try for a school in the USA since you already speak English?

  • @dragonarmy86 Well that would just be too easy wouldn't it? ;)

But yeah no, it's too expensive and I'd like to stay here with my German boyfriend :)

  • nice 2 c u! <3

  • ich wünsch dir noch viel glück und lern fleißig deutsch^^ und wegen des masters probier es doch mal in NRW hier sind die plätze oft nicht ausgereitzt

  • @damnitw Danke ^_^

    Gut zu wissen :)

  • keep ur head up:)

  • Just for your masters or also also for a certain German Winter? Either way great you made a video again, I missed it.

Rejection s*cks. I really hope you try again next year or get the extra credentials to get accepted to the first one, so you can show them some! I just cannot believe you wouldn't be suited for the master that you want to do.

  • @Mazth Hehehe. Well I could have done my masters in Iceland quite easily, but Hamburg is where my Winter lives, and Iceland isn't doing so great, so it was an easy decision.

Plus I always wanted to live abroad for a while, since I was a little kid. There was just something charming about "living in a foreign country".

We'll see, I might re-apply if I can get my fighting spirit into gear. ;)

    Thanks!

  • @Dinzla you should of come to england =] its less colder hier than deutschland in the winter lol

i realy hope things work out for you soon and plz keep us all posted =]=]

  • Nice to see you! Rejection is the worst, but I feel like it's beginning to mean less and less in this world of ours. Too many people competing for too few places.

  • @moscowmasha You too!

This was my first academic rejection so it stings quite a bit. You can still be a big fish in a small pond when you live in Iceland. But in a country with over 80 million people... forget about it.

  • @Dinzla

As one who has faced rejection more than once, I understand the feeling. I can't imagine that advantage - in the United States, you are always a pretty small fish in a rather enormous pond!

Good luck with your new endeavors, I hope they all go well!

  • Sie haben schöne Hände.

  • @moldie Danke. :)

  • Sorry that the schools there are so rude! Hopefully you'll get into it next time..

Are you learning German from Kiwi? :) Come to think of it, I havent seen her around either.

What game were you playing? :)

  • @Brianswers If there will be a next time, hopefully.

No, I'm learning German at a proper language school, 4 hours a day, everyday, for 4 months now. I've got 2 months to go until the final exam, and I can't wait until it's all over and I can speak german. :)

I was/am playing "Fantastic Farm". It's a farming game I bought last weekend and then I played it for 12 hours straight. o_O

  • Sorry the Master's thing didn't work out... yet. Yes, it's up to you to decide whether or not you can be successful, give it another shot if it's something you want to do.

  • @kenrg Thanks for the kind words. :)

Yeah, I'll have plenty of time to think it over and see what I wanna do.

  • Are you a viking?

  • rock on... it looks like other places of the world take college more seriously than America. college is like the new high school here.

  • @TheDeathofGrace have you tried to get into a decent Masters program lately?

  • Oh Gawd, do a video in German! I wanna see that epicness! :)

  • @Skorsch epic-awkwardness that is. Sure, I'll do it one day, but I'm not ready yet. :-S

  • You moved to Germany? Nice. Hope it´s treating you well besides all this rejection stuff. I´d really like know if you like it here...and stuff. :>

And since you´re taking german classes I´m expecting german vlogs in the very near future. ;)

  • @angelsson I like it here alot! One of the best things is these German products called "Minus L", lactose free milk products!! I love them so much! ..Oh and then of course the low alcohol price, öffentliche Verkehrsmittel (it doesn't really work that well in Iceland. I'm still super impressed whenever I take the U-bahn or bus.) und Hamburg selbst ist so schöööön.

I'll probably do a german vlog one day, but I need more practice first. ;)

  • Oh wow! It's that person... uh, forgot her name. Damn!

  • Great to hear from you again :)

  • Hmm.. You've become something like the girl next door now, which should make you more attractive. it totally worked. I've so got the hots for you now. Drop by anytime if you wnt to borrow some sugar, an egg, or whatever. All you have to do is to take the train up through Denmark, across "Storebæltsbroen", and you're there:-)

Nice to hear from you. Don't let the rude german school get you down. Go for it, no matter what the fuckers say. Follow your dream and all that..:-)

  • @jo05dk Follow my dreams I shall! :)

Although now I'm not sure what they are...

I guess I can re-apply once I make more copies of my documents.

It's a hassle... I'll have to think it over..

  • great to see you back!

  • @sossukuk Great to be back! :)

  • Favorite line of this video: "So ruuuude!"

  • omg the care bear!! :D

I had no idea i missed your videos this much. I grew used to you not making videos anymore, I WAS FINE WITHOUT YOU AND NOW I NEED MORE OF YOU.

DAMN YOU AND THAT GAME OF HELL

PS. just ordered the millenium trilogy. it'll be a while till it gets here, but it's ok because i have 3 other books i need to read. :D

  • @bonezjc I'M SORRY!!!

PS. YAY!! Can't wait to hear what you think. I hope you like them. :)

PPS. I didn't know you were such a bookworm. I like it!! :D

  • Wait. What? No-one died in the volcano?! What's the point of a volcano if it's not going to kill loads of people (or at least have virgins thrown in...)

Sucks about the Masters. I hate that they don't tell you something constructive, like 'we'd have accepted you if you had six months more work experience', so you could fix it or something.

Yay for vlogs! I could have watched this for another hour or two.

  • @zebidee55 Hahahaha! I actually think 2 people died from the Volcano, but that was highly indirect. I think they wanted to go see it, got lost on the way there, ran out of gas, decided to walk it and then froze/starved to death.

I know! It would have helped to know if there was something I could do to get in next year, but that punch in the face is quite demoralizing.

Aww.. Thanks Michael, you're so sweet.

  • Wow what a rude school. There is starting to be the oppisite problem over here not enough ppl for the higher level classes.

  • @bearchay889 If only university tuition in the US didn't cost an arm and a leg, I'd so be on that.

  • I cannot tell you how happy I am to see this excellent vlog. (c:

P.S. Eff you, rejecting schools. Your loss!

*makes alternate victory sign and middle finger at Hamburg universities*

  • @AericWinter Hehehe, I'm glad. <3

  • I was just in Germany and it's a beautiful place! Do you like it?

"Likely to be unsuccessful"?! How so? I thought the more you tried for something, the better your odds AND the more it showed how dedicated you are! Well, I guess they say if something doesn't work out it wasn't meant to be... don't know if you believe that but maybe there's something better out there for you. Best wishes!

  • @boomrsoonrupinyoze Yeah, I like it alot. Hamburg is awesome.

I'm very dedicated, but it's kinda hard when you get punched in the face by your dream school. But who knows, maybe I'm meant to do something else, you're right.

    Thanks!

  • Erster!
