  • good to hear again!!

  • All those memoris. I offent heard that song in the winter off 1969, when i was going to be 16, an restored an old moped for the summer. In that time we thougt live vould knewer end and that all girls where reachabel.

  • very nice

  • Look at that blond bass player. He's a dead ringer for the bass player from Aerosmith.

Wait...OMG!!! He IS the bass player from Aerosmith!

What's his name again? Oh yeah...Tom Hamilton.

  • I sure remember this song from the summer of 1969, and I was 12 yrs old, and my class and I were coming back from a very fun day on a field trip, which included swimming. I was sitting in the rear of the school bus, and the radio back there was playing " Love grows where my Rosemary goes", and the radio was on loud, we were all jamming to the song, and trying to dry off from swimming!!!! What a blast we had!!!! I really miss those days of so long ago. Memory, what a gift from God!!!!

  • I LOVE this song! I've played it at least 8 times. Those guys are hotties and I love their hair and fly clothes :) This was popular in may dad's era but I love music from back in the day. It's so much more simple and happy. You had to actually have talent since there weren't special effects. The video quality is great. Only thing is no one seems to agree on if this is Andy Locke's voice or Tony Burrows. Also is this the band that wrote the song or the one that was thrown together last minute?

  • @rebekahmalchow Definitely Tony Burrows voice. Song was written by Tony Macaulay & Barry & Sylvan Mason. This line up was the 2nd edition of EL. The singer Andy Locke is simply miming to Burrows track.

  • @Stuartedison Cool, thanks!

  • can sombody PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! tell me whats the name of the the rapper who sampled this song????????

  • can someone tell me how Rebecca Black has frekin 20+ million views and this only has 78,000?

  • Someone told me that the singer in the video is Andy Locke... is that true?

  • Remember this song in England late 1969 because my girlfriend's name was Rosemary. Yes it was the best time to be young....Only worried about the Ruskies nuking us!!

  • I was just there yesterday!!!! The building is called Victoria Rooms and can be seen on Google street view. Uncanny!!!

  • @jamesclay4 It's at Bristol UK

  • i was 12 years old when this song came out and i still love it.and the one singing is one of the guitars player and tony burrows took the credit for it.if you listen real good to the voice ,do not sound like tony burrows if you had heard the song by tony burrows yo will hear the difference,is not right for him to take credit just because this guys werent famous.

  • @RoseBlayy This is definitley Tony Burrows voice,.............Definitley!

  • @Flickajak You are 100% correct! Session Singer Tony Burrows sang this.

  • i was 12 years old when this song came out and i still love it.

  • This always reminds me of the time I was playing football one Sunday afternoon at Star Lane, Canning Town in the winter of 1970, I was only 13 and we won that day.

  • im jealous of their hair...

  • @classicrock297 Me too!!!!

  • @classicrock297 yes,it's quite attractive..miss that too..

  • @classicrock297 Does anyone know what has become of guitarist Wally Scott? I met him while he was performing solo on Jersey under the name of "Scott" in June 1984.

    Allan Thompson.

  • I had a crush on Rosemary in the 8th grade in 1970. We danced to this song when it came out that year. She didn't know I liked her, too bad.

  • even though I am a high school student

but I still think musics back in the time are Awesome

  • Your quite right totally fake. The lead voice you hear is Tony Burrows (Famous session singer at the time!)

  • @ferraridinoman The lead singing voice is that of our very own Tony Burrows! :)

  • @ferraridinoman Tony Burrows also fronted for the studio bands The Pipkins ("Gimme Dat Ding"), White Plains ("My Baby Loves Lovin'"), First Class ("Beach Baby"), and The Brotherhood of Man ("United We Stand").

  • I know! : )

  • another brilliant 70's song

  • weird, that dude looks exactly like this 13 yr old girl who is crazy about me.

  • omg! I can`t stop laughin at 2: 28 :D :D

  • @dominiquemariep ..ohhhhhh why?i luv his sexy ass!!!.....

  • i wish they made more songs. This is 1 of my fav songs :(

  • Thxs for posting, I'm from that era, unforgettable song; nothing like those wonderful years, so much that today I instantly recognize music from those days :)

  • @SuperTheArk I know babydoll, I was kidding...it was a lame joke. hee-hee :P

  • @lEtUtEl Sorry, I was a bit tierd I think! I ge t it! :-D

  • I suppose new singer Paul Vigrass rerecorded the song because the vocals here sounds like him.

But Andy Locke is miming here.

  • A total feel good song...Kind of like Sunshine Pop, but not quite.

Used in a number of movies.

Also voted one of the worst songs ever.....

    Those people are deaf...

  • Amazing to go back. Wonder if all generations or eras have the number of great songs like this one I remember when I was a kid. My sisters had this record and played it over and over. It makes remember good times.

  • @thatswhatsup9 This IS one of "those songs" that will stick with a person their whole lives! Thx for your comment.

  • NOTE: The cutie miming the voice of Tony Burrows in the video is Andy Locke!

Video was filmed in 1971 in front of the Bristol Town Hall in Uk.

Andy Locke, David Kerr-Clemenson (bass guitar), Eddie Richards (drums) and Wally Scott (guitar).

  • @SZSearcher Man I can't find it on Googlemaps.

I end up at totaly different buildings.

...huh do you have an address??

  • @SZSearcher The "Cutie?" singing is miming to Tony Burrows voice!

  • @strofca Yeah, I should have said "miming" the song Tony Burrows sang is Andy Locke.

  • WOOO PAINT YOU KNOW....YOU GOT THE SOUL BABYYYY!!!!! SMOOOOCHES....

  • wow,..i know this song soo well,..makes me happy:))

  • This singer looks familiar & its been driving me nuts...he looks like Duran Duran's bassplayer John Taylor! (Back in the 80's)

  • great dacing and jaming music! real shit back than not this american idol crap.

  • Who is the lead singer who subbed in this video for Tony Burrows? Actually the whole band is different than the original Light House.

  • @akcoins .Andy Locke

  • Memories of me and my AM radio!

  • @fntrovato Hey!

This should bring back old memories - when I was about seven years old my grandmother gave to me and my sister for Christmas - Transistor(?sp) radios. And with an ear phone to listen to the Transistor radio - good stuff huh?

  • Thanks for all the views and remember . . . Love Grows! :)

  • @BeatleStone Truly is and . . . nobody knows like me! (and you!)

  • I know theres alot of controversity to this song about the REAL Edison lighthouse but this version is the one I REMEMBER!I was around 3 years old at the time & i remember watching it on top of the pops (no direspect to to other edison lighthouse) but this is what i remember & treasure.

  • @bladesmark2 Yes, but what's important is the music and that we enjoyed this song and the presentation of it so much AND that it was sung by Tony Burrows! :) Thanks for your comments.

  • @bladesmark2 Hello, these guys never performed Love grows on TOTP!

  • @strofca Hi, yes i realise that they didn't actually perform on TOTP but the video was aired on TOTP.

  • @bladesmark2 Not this video. The real Edison lighthouse were the only ones who appeared on TOTP with Love grows

  • @strofca Must have been another programme i was watching then lol,i was a nipper at the time.

  • My mom was 10 years old when the song hit #10. Love still grows where my mom goes! I love her..

  • @devonmusicfreak :) One this song hit the AM radio dial here in the states it became one of the most played songs ever!

    Thanks for your comments!

    ~SZsearcher

  • i got this song on 45 vinyl record

  • @iucoltsfan Sweet! I still think vinyl has the best sound!

  • I was in Hungary when a progressive radio station was playing this while staying with my local friends. Eventhough they didn't understand a single work both my friend and his MOTHER enjoyed this song very much. We had great fun.

  • @istkemMnlPH1 The music is there even if one doesn't understand the words! Thanks for the comment!

  • amazing song

  • @beatlesdoorsfan Thanks for your comment! :)

  • Try going through a day when that song was popular and your oldest sister's name is Rosemary. And try going through a day when the most scariest book was named "Rosemary's Baby" and my name is Adriane. Go figure.

  • @tweetymaw OMG...this is a great comment...so funny!!!!

  • i remember being like 6 and LOVING this song, and I finally found it...8 years later LOL XD

  • @Starshine1396 This is one of those favorites people might have lost track of until they hear it years later and enjoy it all over again like it was new! Sweet memories! TY for the comments. :)

  • I Just love this song! It's makes me happy! Well sometimes I feel like Rosemary... She ain't got no money

    She ain't got no money

    Her clothes are kinda funny

Her hair is kinda wild and free

    She talks kinda lazy

And people say she she's crazy

    And her life's a mystery

    ;-)

  • @SuperTheArk . . . AND nobody knows like me! :)

  • @SuperTheArk I love this song too! My version, "She dont want no money..."

  • @SuperTheArk This Musc will never Die !!!! Very best wishes from Snowball from Germany

  • @invincibleNdangerous Thanks for watching and your comments! :)

  • Nice group....Andy Locke's a great guy and good singer. But its totally bogus....its a group that had nothing to do with the original song that's been put together to mime the video. Tony Burrows had hits with Edison, Brotherhood of Man, First Class, the Pipkins and White Plains...all studio bands with Tony fronting them.

  • @aquarius11 That is correct, Tony Burrows, a session singer, sang this hit!

  • I like to believe that this is a "dual meaning" sort of song. Let Rosemary be not just some chick that you really adore, but also perhaps some really good Smoke.

  • I loved this song as a child. I was 10 years old when it was released. Wow, great memories and thanks for all of the info you provided.

  • Oh my what a blast from the past. I haven't heard this song in years! Thank you for sharing...got any more great hits from the 70's or 80's to share?

  • @bagobuilder Indeed! I love this video, but remember the person who actually is singing this song is the one and only Tony Burrows!

  • My Favorite Song from my Childhood. I remember hearing this on the radio back in the day. I never knew who sang it or what the name of the Group was. Thanks for making this 40 Something Happy.

  • @perpetual61 You are very welcome! Thanks for the comment!

  • @perpetual61Thanks! The song is timeless and this video is etched into my mind forever when I hear it, even though Andy Locke is not actually singing it.

  • @perpetual61 this was my FAVORITE song as a kid and is still awesome!!

  • @ictia3 One of my favorites too! Thanks for the comment!

  • @perpetual61 Thanks so much for comments! Love Grows!! :)

  • The cutie singing in the video is Andy Locke! Video was filmed in 1971 in front of the Bristol Town Hall in Uk. Andy Locke, David Kerr-Clemenson (bass guitar), Eddie Richards (drums) and Wally Scott (guitar).

  • @educateusgirls Thanks! I love this song too! :D
