The best pair's team in the history of figure skating. When Segei died it was the end of an era, and when Katia retired from SOI it was the end of another era. SOI feels empty to me without all the skaters from the early 90's.
Wow! I guess I ws busy or otherwise preoccupied in the early 90's because I don't remember these two. But I am so happy now (in 2010) to have learned about them and this beautiful montage has touched me deeply. It's a beautiful story. It feels like the kind of love in a fairy tale (albeit with the sadness of him now being gone). Katia, you're beautiful and I wish the very best for you and your new family. Such a beautiful video. They were an extraordinary couple on and off the ice. We won't see another pairs team like this. They were simply exquisite. They had such a truly pure and innocent love that translated so beautifully to the audience. I so miss seeing them skate. Pairs skating is just not the same now.
It's obvious that Sergei and Katia are so in love. True love. Pure. And that is why they are so good on the ice together. Hopefully they will skate for us in heaven. Have any of you ever had a relationship like that?
