I'm Korean and I like this song. Is this transitional song in Mongol? The reason is the pronunciation of Mongol language are pretty much similar to Korean. I heard this song twice and I memorized and almost sing this song ( not really ). I also like Tuva music of Mongol too. @MGLomerta Look no further than South Korea. If your country has an economy as strong as theirs, you don't worry whether the younger Mongolians will recognize their root. I'm Chinese and I don't like the culture-genocidal policy of our government either. Why can't Asians stop screwing each other and be civil like the Europeans?
@MGLomerta Anti-globalization might not be the answer. Finland has not become more Sweden or more Russian over the last hundred years despite active participation in EU and Nordic Council. On the contrary, China, which has never been quite open in cultural sense got its culture devastated after WWII. It's all about economy, openness and social capital etc.
chinese are trying to take over outer mongolia through inner mongolia stealing outer mongolians music, tradition and clothings everything...it is so sad that inner mongolians are helping for chinese to do that once again....there should be no inner mongolia called....just chinese is enough!! chenese people would agree that too!
This is so beatifull song. Its so powerfull, full of of proud. I like to listen it again and again. I really envy your culture, your history and your attitude. All I can say is that keep that. Multiculturality will destroy Europe, Europe is in hopeless situation nowadays...hope Mongolian people do not defer the same.
@tripback2dream far not everything, but many thing yes, what the western world not able to accept. Turan had a great and natural civilization both for Turkic and Mongolic peoples and the Koreans are a Turkic-Mongolic mix this is why they thinks same or looks same.
@hit004541 Well,at the University,I learned that most scholars regard Chinese languages(yes,in the plural) as a family of their own,but I do agree that in the end they should come together with Japanese and Korean, etc. But this is just my opinion,no linguistic evidence has proven that Chinese languages are of the same family as those of Uralo-Altaic languages,as far as I know (but maybe there´s been a recent breakthrough I haven´t heard of yet about this)

Minii=my, mine. Aav=father. Aduuchin=horse herder (literally "horser"). Hun=man/person. My father is/was a horse herder.
"Minii" is same as english my, mein, mine. "Aav" is same as hebrew av, arabic abu for father. Aduu means horse, which is also called "at" (I believe) in turkish. And "hun" (written humun) is the same as "human" in English and means human, person or man.
Excelent comparision. I am curious if you know how Aav comes to Mongolia, if Aba/Abu from Hebrew and Arabic is a semitic root. Or is it a mere coincidence? May be through the process of Islamization in Central Asia.
At is indeed Turkish for horse, which is easy to relate to Mongolian, as many modern Turkish words are borrowed from Mongolian.
Excelent post. Thanks.
I would like to know if it is possible to have a translation of the song?
@newtonop hmm actually it's not suprising me i know all humans came from same mother and father of course they will be similar words from totally different language
in kurdish "min" for my and mine, bav for father...
all humans have connection to each other no doubt.
@kurdski1 yes, that's how it would be in Anatolian Turkish i suppose. don't they also say "apa" for father in Anatolian Turkish? "Menin Awa Atchi Kishi" is in my version of Tuvan Turkic. Kishi means person.
I don't think Manchu is similar to Native American. Manchu has some distant similarity to Korean is all I heard.
@newtonop hm i think they don't use this awa i never heard this,i always hear baba.u know anatolian turkish barrowed a lot from neighbours and also from french and some italian.but still i can sometimes understand the turkic people from asia.kishi is the same in turkish.
no,i meant the word manchu sounds for me native amercian so i didn't expect this could be from asia :) but still i think native american and mongols have similarity
@newtonop , Manchu has no relationship to Korean at all, Korean is not an Altaic language, it is an isolate language, like Japanese. Father in Turkish, Azerbaijani, Uzbek and UIghur is Ata. Manchu is Tungusic, related to Oronqen and Ewenki. But Manchus are really a confederation of Jurchens, Han Chinese and Mongol banners.

I'm Chinese, but I actually lived very close to Mongolia, in the Inner Mongolia province of China, so I visited Mongolia a lot and also there is a lot of Mongolian population where I lived. And I'm proud to say that I probably could survive a bit as a nomad. :D Mongolians ftw.

This is one of my favorite songs. The physical differences between Chinese and Mongolian just like the physical differences between British and French.
Are you trying to say that they are very different or not different at all? I don't understand. I mean, if you said cultural differences, I would understand, but physical?
Mongol is divided two part now. Mongol is a country between China and Russia. The inner Mongol, the smaller part, is part of China. Mongoles is one of 56 natiniliese of China. Different language and different culture. The whole mongoles was under China's control for hundred of years. The new Mongole became a country after world one with the help of Russia for its natinonal interests. Mongolones are good people.
Southern/Inner Mongolia is a Chinese colony. Also Bayan gol and Bor tal districts are Zhungar Mongolian, and there are Mongolains in Liaoning, Qinghai, Gansu provinces. All these are historically Mongolian lands. We-Mongolins hope that one-day Southern Mongolia, Bayan gol Bor tal, Liaoning Mongolians lands return to Mongolia.
Mongolia never ever was under the Chinese control. We were invaded by Manchu Qing. Manchus are not Chinese. Now disappeared.

Chinese Ming destroyed Karakorum. Manchus are Chinese. Chinese made up of 56 ethnicities. You mean Han, right? China will rule Outer Mongolia in less than 50 years. Today's Mongolia is not Genghiz Khan's Mongolia.
Let me correct you here. Manchus are Mongolians and I hope you know why. Please, be respectful to my great ancestors of Mongolia and its great and rich history of Surviving Independence. Thank you.
Whole China was under Mongolian rule. But a hundred year ago Mongolia and China were both under Manchu invasion. Manchus were nomadic people and share similarities with Mongolians and Turkic people, but now totally assimilated into Han Chinese. Learn some history before post.
Very correct. Let me add another sentence. Mongol that is between Russia and China is called outer Mongolia and it has its very own rich culture, history, language, religion, and independence. Please, respect that..
Yes, Mongolians are good people. Thank you for your comment, whitmantaoliu. Good question, Takchek!

can someone tell me the exact meaning of its title? "Minii aav" means "my father", is it right?

Yes! My father is horse herder.

Minii=my, mine. Aav=father. Aduuchin=horse herder (literally "horser"). Hun=man/person. My father is/was a horse herder.
"Minii" is same as english my, mein, mine. "Aav" is same as hebrew av, arabic abu for father. Aduu means horse, which is also called "at" (I believe) in turkish. And "hun" (written humun) is the same as "human" in English and means human, person or man.
Funny isn't it.

newtonop 1 year ago
@newtonop hmm actually it's not suprising me i know all humans came from same mother and father of course they will be similar words from totally different language
in kurdish "min" for my and mine, bav for father...
all humans have connection to each other no doubt.
kurdski1 1 year ago
@kurdski1 especially between the Turks, Mongols and Manchus.
In the Manchu language, the song name would be "Minii Ama Aduchi Nyalma".
In Turkic language, it would be "Menin Awa Atchi Kishi".
newtonop 1 year ago
@newtonop and in turkish it would be,benim for my mine, hmm isn't kishi for person?benim babam atçi,i think so would be in turkish(anatolia).
so manchu that sounds for me native american, right?i think there is a stronger connection between native americans and mongolians.
kurdski1 1 year ago
@kurdski1 yes, that's how it would be in Anatolian Turkish i suppose. don't they also say "apa" for father in Anatolian Turkish? "Menin Awa Atchi Kishi" is in my version of Tuvan Turkic. Kishi means person.
I don't think Manchu is similar to Native American. Manchu has some distant similarity to Korean is all I heard.
newtonop 1 year ago
@newtonop hm i think they don't use this awa i never heard this,i always hear baba.u know anatolian turkish barrowed a lot from neighbours and also from french and some italian.but still i can sometimes understand the turkic people from asia.kishi is the same in turkish.
no,i meant the word manchu sounds for me native amercian so i didn't expect this could be from asia :) but still i think native american and mongols have similarity
kurdski1 1 year ago
@newtonop , Manchu has no relationship to Korean at all, Korean is not an Altaic language, it is an isolate language, like Japanese. Father in Turkish, Azerbaijani, Uzbek and UIghur is Ata. Manchu is Tungusic, related to Oronqen and Ewenki. But Manchus are really a confederation of Jurchens, Han Chinese and Mongol banners.

I think Inner Mongolians need more singers and song writers like Tenger. Right now most of their music is imported from Mongolia.

Why ? Genghis Khan's Mongolia ? Mongolian Genghis Khan!!! There is no Genghis Khan's Mongolia !!! Genghis Khan was just a General who can unite him very intellectal persons ( Like Elui Chutsai ) !!! Genghis Khan is not the reason we invaded half of the world ! Because they were Mongolians !! That's why
sena1110 2 years ago
where are you from? Rofl as if you know mongolians, come to the steppes of mongolia at least once and see if a chineese can survive on the steppes as nomands, mongolians are very strict when it comes to marrige specialy on men side
Neverdyingpride 2 years ago
I'm Chinese, but I actually lived very close to Mongolia, in the Inner Mongolia province of China, so I visited Mongolia a lot and also there is a lot of Mongolian population where I lived. And I'm proud to say that I probably could survive a bit as a nomad. :D Mongolians ftw.

This is one of my favorite songs. The physical differences between Chinese and Mongolian just like the physical differences between British and French.
khuhxil 2 years ago
Which is... not much?
Are you trying to say that they are very different or not different at all? I don't understand. I mean, if you said cultural differences, I would understand, but physical?
Genomatekk 2 years ago
Can anyone tell the difference between Mongol and Chinese?
I mean, physically. Culturally I know they're very different.
takchek 2 years ago
Mongol is divided two part now. Mongol is a country between China and Russia. The inner Mongol, the smaller part, is part of China. Mongoles is one of 56 natiniliese of China. Different language and different culture. The whole mongoles was under China's control for hundred of years. The new Mongole became a country after world one with the help of Russia for its natinonal interests. Mongolones are good people.
whitmantaoliu 2 years ago 2

Thank you.
beanpaste2009 2 years ago
Whole China was under Mongolian rule. But a hundred year ago Mongolia and China were both under Manchu invasion. Manchus were nomadic people and share similarities with Mongolians and Turkic people, but now totally assimilated into Han Chinese. Learn some history before post.
BilguunArt 2 years ago
Very correct. Let me add another sentence. Mongol that is between Russia and China is called outer Mongolia and it has its very own rich culture, history, language, religion, and independence. Please, respect that..
Yes, Mongolians are good people. Thank you for your comment, whitmantaoliu. Good question, Takchek!
beanpaste2009 2 years ago
Mongolians come from Eurasian steppes, and therefore, Mongolians are much taller, whiter, and stronger than Chinese.
Chinese come from Polinesia - they are short, dark, with piggy nosed, and thik lipped They look like pigmys from Polinesia.
